It will definitely be in the 42k range. If it's less why buy the A-spec... The S3 with similar trim package is over 52k.A-Spec or A-Spec Tech? because if you're thinking it will be 42-43k then it's going to have a HARD fight with the S3 as it has AWD, 300hp and is 46K. If the Integra shows up with just a 272HP 2.0T for just 3k less it's going to be a hard fight to justify itself. At 40-42 that arguments a bit easier. To me AWD and 28hp isnt worth 4k, and if the ITS has a manual that would give it more appeal to me over the S3.
285 would be perfect for me. There becomes a point where too much power isn’t fun on the street. I’m not saying 300hp is that threshold, but the lesson I learned with being a Mustang 5.0 owner is that power is cool if you are putting jail time and quadruple digit fines on the line while street racing. But as I get older, that’s not something I’m as interested in as I was in my carefree/invincible youth. (Although the bug does get me sometimes ).It’s definitely not going to get more then 300 HP. I still feel 285 HP with a different tuned 2.0T from the TLX is coming instead of the Accord engine.
For me with the 306 I have in my car I feel like it’s the perfect amount of HP. But do I honestly feel like the Type S NEEDS 300 HP or 310 HP… no I really don’t think it does. The other competitors will way more then the Integra S especially with the AWD systems they all have which will be beneficial to the Type S when going around a track ala Type R. All it needs is LSD, some good rubber, good brakes which we know are Brembo 4 pistons and Adaptive dampers. That’s all it needs to compete against the higher HP AWD models.285 would be perfect for me. There becomes a point where too much power isn’t fun on the street. 285 is plenty to have a ton of fun with imo. The Mustang on the other hand in many cases isn’t “fun”. It’s just a great sounding cruiser for me.
Sounds like all that’s different between the Accord’s K20C4 and the TLX’s K20C6 are the mounts and likely a tune… according to Wikipedia at least. It’s definitely not going to get more then 300 HP. I still feel 285 HP with a different tuned 2.0T from the TLX is coming instead of the Accord engine.
Not really, the S3 is over 3500lbs. and 301hp, the Integra, assuming that the weight numbers leaked are correct, can have a Type S with the 272HP 2.0T and still be competitive as it will likely be under 3250lbs. 300 will help marketing a lot sure, but 272 with its weight will likely keep it competitive in performance.I think the Type S variant needs to see over 300 hp, I can't see it with any less.
I would be a price tag in the low $40's. and I am not looking forward to the crazy dealer markups will see. You know some A-hole of a dealer will be asking like 80-90k for them.
Weight numbers are correct. I found them via the Acura info Center in a PDF file. Not really, the S3 is over 3500lbs. and 301hp, the Integra, assuming that the weight numbers leaked are correct, can have a Type S with the 272HP 2.0T and still be competitive as it will likely be under 3250lbs. 300 will help marketing a lot sure, but 272 with its weight will likely keep it competitive in performance.
What if it made 271hp?????????Not really, the S3 is over 3500lbs. and 301hp, the Integra, assuming that the weight numbers leaked are correct, can have a Type S with the 272HP 2.0T and still be competitive as it will likely be under 3250lbs. 300 will help marketing a lot sure, but 272 with its weight will likely keep it competitive in performance.
I think we’ll be getting most of this. The AWD is the only thing I don’t think we’ll see. Truly if they use the 2.0 from the TLX there’s no excuses it’s already built for AWD but another car in their fleet getting WRX MPG will kill them in fleet MPG.All I know is it should have better breaks, better suspension, more horsepower, extra tech features, SHAWD, and better NSX inspired tires and wheels, and a killer manual transmission paired with a far more sporty than average auto transmission option.
It would be nice to have it. Personally think if they do add it it would be similar to how Hyundai does it with the Elantra N where you can easily take it out.Do you guys think there will be a rear brace behind the seats like TLX Type S? As much as id like it, I feel like it would detract from the hatchback space versatility. Maybe it will be removeable.
