I haven’t checked but, you may be rather surprised. In my past experience, it’s been far more expensive to insure an S2000, WRX STi, Evo9 MR than a similar year Corvette or CTS-V.

I’m expecting the ITS to be more expensive to insure than it should be but, slightly less than the CTR.

Probably not proper context, but $39/month more than what I’m paying for my full size v8 truck. 🙄

Trucks are expensive to insure too...at least in my area. I just sold my 2022 F-350 Platinum Tremor Diesel 4x4 (a beast of a truck) and I was shocked by my insurance rates after purchase. My rate was like driving a high performance supercar, lol. The Tundra I replaced it with is much less expensive to insure.

I like that Acura is slowly drifting back towards their "precision crafted performance" focus. Much better than the "we copy Lexus ... badly" and "we make cars with beaks!" design phases they went through in past decades.

As such, I could not care less if the ITS gets a sunroof or not. Precision and fun are more important than luxury, in my opinion. FWIW, I'd rather *not* have a sunroof, and when I bought my present Integra I had to special order it to NOT get one, and I also just ordered and bought another vehicle specifically excluding a sunroof. Beautiful days are for motorcycles anyway.

I don't see Acura primarily as a luxury brand. But I'm also old enough to remember (and got to drive) the very first Integra generation in the mid-80s. The fact that we're even debating this, what luxury features the ITS should have and not have, is indicative to me that Acura, as a brand, has still not found its way. There's a reason they are less successful than Lexus, despite having a head start. The public doesn't know what Acura stands for!

Honestly I feel like Acura/Honda aren't trying to create a large distinction between the Type R and Type S. It feels more like this is just an efficient way of cranking out "Type Rs" in Ohio to meet American demand, rather than having to somehow expand their manufacturing capacity in Japan or not meet Japanese demand.

Well this is an efficient process. It cost way less to make the tooling and put it in place 1 time than to ship cars across the pond , which has caused very large delays if you have watched the tracking of them , basically sitting in shipyards.

Yep, it also helps them build more brand equity for Acura and the Type S brand while they're at it. The tooling/capex aspect is why I think they'll probably crank out a lot of Integra Type S's. This car is pretty much just for Canada and the US, and if they're only gonna make 4000 a year (FK8 numbers for America) that's just 16000 total cars total in a 4 year run. That's about 1/3 of the FK8s they made globally.

Well I think these pictures from the teaser today confirm the lack of a sunroof. It looks like even if they were to cut out a sunroof, there are support bars in the chassis that would block the area, so the theory of multiple trims might not be true either.

Yeah, that makes perfect sense - hatchbacks give up a lot of body stiffness vs sedans, so they make that up with support bars where the moonroof would go.

There is a moon roof.
It would make sense for the Type S to have it… but it would be a somewhat significant change over the CTR so I’m not expecting it.

Good on them if they do… rather than pinching pennies. I’d rather they didn’t so the msrp won’t get too out of control.

There is also a hood scoop/vent that if full functional. And all of the Type S colors will be available.
