Anyone used these?
Seems like most are around 35 dollars but HPS has it for 20. Noticed this when I ordered my charge pipes from HPS.
Although Mishimoto is a set with transmission drain plug too.

Bout to do first oil change at 1500miles and wondering if these plugs are worth it, ( mean I figure for 20 bucks it cant hurt) seems most metal shavings worn would empty out after first oil change but interested in people thoughts..

I have them in the engine & trans of my S2000. The one in the trans is especially helpful since there's no filter, and it does collect a fair amount of fine shavings. The one in the oil pan just collects a film of very fine black stuff, but it gives peace of mind to see that's all it collects, so yes, I think they're both useful.

I've read that the plug for our trans is M20 x 1.5, not M14 x 1.5 like the oil drain plug (can't confirm because I have not removed mine yet). These are the ones I plan to buy:

Arenā€™t the OEM plugs magnetic already?

Curious as most of the other sites specify the transmission is a M20 not M14 which it appears on the Skunk 2 site.. you installed both without issues?
Good call. I haven't installed them yet and assumed it was the same as the FK8. Well I guess I need to double check what I bought.

That's an interesting range of materials used in the plug offerings above: 303 stainless, 6061 aluminum, titanium.

Is there a reason to prefer any one of those materials for engine and/or transmission oil plugs?

I have the Spoon magnetic plug that I ordered from Unity Performance & installed after the first oil change. Not quite to my second just yet.

Aluminum plug in aluminum casting = bad idea. Titanium so they can charge more $$$. Note that the oil drain plug is M14x1.5 but the trans plug is M20x1.5. How do you guys swap the transmission plug out? Drain, catch, replace plug and put original fluid back in?

Seems wasteful changing the oil so early.

Just turn the car upside down when you pull the plug.

just switch it out quickly and top it back off provided you have the same/correct fluid. It will be messy I'm sure. I think you have to take out a few thinmgs to access the fill hole. Maybe battery and airbox. Just going off a video I watched of "Point by Patrol" (you tube channel) changing his transmission fluid. Don't take this as gospel but I think that's what I saw.
