Do you think there is much of a benefit to doing a charge pipe with the stock intercooler? I want to keep the intercooler stock for a few reasons but was thinking of doing a charge pipe. Also what are your thoughts on turbo inlet pipes? Especially if I keep the intake stock.

I'll probably get a tune down the road, but not trying to do that right away.
On a car that is stock tune in he stock chargepipes are fine. If you want to upgrade them you can since they will stronger but will not yield a lot of benefit. Neither will the inlet. My car is running everything induction stock, inlet, chargepipes and stock airbox with 0 issues with the exception of the turbo upgrade. I do feel the chargepipes I do have to change since I am pushing about 29-30psi of boost.

Ok, I was thinking more in terms of increasing throttle and turbo response more so than HP gains. But maybe without a tune they don't really do that much for either responsiveness or gains. I know that HPS claims a 13 WHP gain with just their charge pipe, so I was thinking maybe it would be worth it if those numbers are to be believed.

So let me step in and be the asshole again... but wouldn't it make sense to have all this conversation about tuning in maybe, you know- a thread about tuning?

It's one thing to go down little rabbit holes here and there, that's what this thread is for. But the last 5 pages have been chock full o tuning questions. Just seems to make sense to make this sidebar a dedicated conversation, amirite? Amirong?

You can even dedicate the first page of the thread to me, the cock juggling thundercunt that shamed you into making your own thread. I promise to only cry a little.

I would LOVE a tuning guide thread. @JesterTuned it might be a good idea if you start one. I had only heard of Rob from IMW before I saw you posting on here. the knowledge you have shared is making me lean toward you when I chose to get a tune. I'm sure if you started a thread and laid out some basic knowledge/paths people can take, it would give you lots of exposure and drum up new business.

Drove from Brooklyn up the Harlem River Drive and then up Palisades Parkway to Harriman State Park where I drove a bunch of the windy back roads in the park all afternoon. Roads were totally empty except for a few guys on sports bikes. Was my first drive with the RV6 Ceramic Front Pipe and PRL Rear Motor Mount.

Regarding the Front Pipe, I can't say that I noticed any significant changes with just this pipe placed on my otherwise stock exhaust. Possibly the idle note had slightly more bass to it, but it could have been my imagination. The car might have been slightly more responsive under WOT, but again nothing significant to report back. I'm expecting to notice more significant gains when I get my TSP Front Pipe and blankets.

The RMM was the most noticeable of the two mods. Gear shifts in 1/2/3 gears were much smoother under aggressive driving. WOT pulls in 1st and 2nd gear seemed to be putting much more power down to the wheels, all but eliminating wheel hop. Throttle lift offs at high RPMs in 2nd gear were less jerky. The downside is that I did notice more vibration at idle especially with the AC on. I drove quite a few aggressive miles today and it did seem that by the end of the day as I was getting back to the city that the RMM had already started to break in and was less noticeable at idle speeds than this morning when I pulled out of the garage. Hopefully it will continue to break in and smooth out even more. Overall, I'm happy with the trade off on how the car drives with the stiffer mount. It is definitely an improvement during spirited driving and increases driver connection and feedback.

My next mods that I have lined up are the TSP Down Pipe with a lava blanket and a turbo blanket. Just waiting on my order from TSP which might be a few months.

Such a great car to drive on back roads. I had my GF with me and she kept commenting on how fun it was. It was also a perfect, cool, sunny day out, minus a brief afternoon shower.

Totally. Another couple ITS owners north of the City on the FB group also mentioned doing a cruise. Maybe we can organize a small meet up in Harriman.

I gotta be honest, the pops and bangs are far louder now 7k miles in than they were when I got the car. I really started noticing a difference recently. I'm actually looking at milder exhausts as a direct result of this- it's already obnoxious stock lol.

It gets..."rowdy" with exhaust mods, I feel even a mild system would accentuate the pops.

A Harley rode past me today and though it was just one loud *POP* from his exhaust, it was definitely a little jarring. I imagine this is what our cars sound like when opened up. I love it but I use sparingly and try not to use it when there are others around. That's just me, I feel guilt when I ran a HFC on my previous cars. Still did it though, would do it again, guilt be damned.
