.....no real reason except Marketing, that Acura can't make a Coupe Model - the 4 door is based on the Civic Platform, and there still remains the previous Gen Civic Coupe Platform to use. Marketing figures they won't sell is probably their reason for not doing it.
to the majority on here pining for the Integra Type R (DC2);
That was only named Acura here - it was named HONDA everywhwre else except maybe Hong Kong. Only sold in USA for years 1997,98,99 and 2001. Only 3823 Models ever made it here to be offered. "ACURA" is only sold to this day in USA and...
Yep exactly correct!!!
You and I are on the Same Page but we're the 1%
The only item Acura can add (and hopefully will) for the ITS is the Accord 2L Turbo with 252HP
But for now I'll just wait and see and keep my ILX
Yes the ILX was/is a good car - and it could have been named Integra all along
I just wonder how many on here have even driven an original Integra GS-R let alone a Type R - ITR's came from Factory with no A/C and no Radio .... those were Dealer-installed Options
Oh I can "afford" it - and will also take a good look - as far as the ILX being a "failure" that's your opinion - I have one and it's a perfect example of my 1987 M5 even tho FWD and Auto and 4 cyl - like I said I'll take a good look when they come in to dealers - all Im saying is that the name...
I still think it may have been a BIG Marketing mistake to "name" this INTEGRA instead of ILX - there are too many emational ties to Integra - emotional ties related to the models those emotional ties remember
Well it and the 2022 Civic Hatch are both 3" SHORTER than my 2019 ILX so it didn't get bigger, but my ILX is the exact same size as my 1987 BMW M5 and that was classed as a FULL-size Sedan in 1987. My ILX is 3044 pounds with the DC Auto. They "named" it wrong based on an Emotional Marketing...
I personally think Acura blew it with the "name" - they should have named it as "The New ILX" or should have re-named it as "RSX" but INTEGRA has so many emotional ties with it that the name alone brought out the Haters. Integras were always based on the Civic Platform but they never looked the...
I saw the comments about BIG cars and I agree.............that's why I decided to keep my 2019 ILX and bought out my Lease. Yep it's one of the "modern" cars, but if I turn OFF all the Suite Nannies, it's pretty Basic and it's just the right size for me in Ft Lauderdale Traffic - same size as my...
2019 ILX A-Spec past 3 years with "Integra Badging"
I tell all who ask that it's a 2023 Integra Test Mule !!
actually same size/same performance as the 1987 M5 I bought new in 87 for $48,000 and drove for 10 years - I know I'm dating myself!!!!
