  1. Autocross megathread

Had my second event in the car yesterday. New event site for me and the club. Small turnout so we got 9 runs total (4 morning, 5 afternoon). The morning sessions everyone (including myself) was having issues putting power down. The site wasn't dusty but another club ran two days last weekend...
  2. Autocross megathread

I personally like the V730 better than the RE71RS. I ran both last year on the GTI. The Bridgestones softer sidewall does not jive with the way I drive. Additionally the Bridgestone overheats too fast on FWD cars. The Kumho actually likes heat - which makes it ideal on a FWD car (especially...

I have +58. The Apex EC-7 18x9.5 option. I can likely get away with a small 3mm spacer if I wanted but I don’t want to deal with them and risk any thread engagement issues.
  4. Autocross megathread

Had my first event in the Type-S last weekend. For those that don't know - I've been doing this 'seriously' for over 20 years. Trophied a few times at Nationals before and have won a few Tour's & Pro's along the way. I've always been a 'FWD specialist' and mainly run cars in GS and HS. Last...
  5. Hood strut options?

Those of us that do track/autocross likely know how having hood struts is superior over the prop rod. Not just from ease of use, but we have the hood open in open area's where high winds can cause havoc. Has anyone found a Type-S hoot strut option yet?
  6. Autocross megathread

Not yet. My first event isn't until the first weekend in May. In case anyone was wondering - the wheels I ordered have PLENTY of thread engagement for the lug nuts. 7 turns before I even made contact. Also OEM TPMS sensors do work with the Apex wheels.
  7. Autocross megathread

Correct. Rarely done if its a brand new car/model. I believe the 2015 WRX hit showrooms in July and was made eligible to complete at 2014 Nationals and someone almost won in one. More commonly is like when its a model roll-over. For instance, the 2024 ASpec Integra (which hit showrooms in May...
  8. Autocross megathread

Haha, all good. 7+ years on the committee has made me grow some thick skin! I can take it!! The best thing about SCCA is that most region's have a registration team that knows the rules/classes fairly well. If the region does things right, they will allow you to pre-register with class of "UNK"...
  9. Autocross megathread

Firstly, I am currently a member of the committee for SCCA that classes cars in the Street category. Each category (Street, Street Touring, Street Prepared, etc) has its own classing committee. Its 100% volunteer and eats up many hours of my free time per month. We get nothing for it. I am...
  10. Autocross megathread

Although the car has not officially been classed in Street Touring yet - the car would be in STU along with the FK8 and FL5. All of the mods you mentioned are allowed in STU. You need to submit a request to have it classed officially which can be done at https://crbscca.com/ .
  11. Basic Question RE: Alignment

You'd be surprised at that comment! I have had a lot of new cars from the factory over the years with alignment specs way out of whack. Usually within factory "tolerances" but one side may be toed-in and the other toed-out. Its not a bad idea to have the car aligned at some point, but don't...
  12. Autocross megathread

I got my Type-S about a month ago and will be jumping in the B-Street waters full blast. Ordered my wheels (18x9.5 ET58 Apex EC-7) and tires (V730 in 275/35-18) on Wednesday.... I have left-over sway bars from when I campaigned my 10th/11th gen Civics (had an '18 Si, '20 Sport Hatch and '22 Si)...
  13. Alcantara Center Console with Stitching

First post! For anyone looking to pull the trigger on one of these - looks like now is the time! I believe the part is in stock (and if Overland does not have them, dealers should be able to get them within days). And Overland looks to be having a Black Friday deal going. I was ordering one...
