I am not sure if they are available in the US, but Costco Canada has "Phantom" mats which are a little bit cheaper than TUX mats.
When they arrived and I opened the package, all the instructions are labeled Tux. So these are grey label Tux mats and I love them for salt and snow.
Got them installed on mine as well, and was pleasantly surprised (in a good way) that they stick out further.
I had rally guards on my FK8, but I personally didn't like the aesthetic for the ITS. OEMs seem like a nice compromise
I have the spare tire kit, that I bought for my FK8, and the spare sits about the same.
I am going to try and deflate first. to see of it makes a difference. If not, maybe some foam strips on either side before putting the trunk tray back in.
No ideal, but I prefer a proper spare.

I am using Blizzak 245/40R18s on mine, and have been great with Newfoundland winters the past 3 winters. I guess I should have went narrower, but fortunately no floating for me on the snow.
