Wow, I kinda got a sense of those criticisms from the other reviews, but he hit on a lot of the points that I had concerns about. The Core interior looks incredibly spartan and the GRC size is far less useable. Hearing about Marysville and Acura QC is also concerning... maybe I will patiently...
Ah that makes sense, and is unfortunate to hear. Waiting for the Type S will hopefully allow manufacturing to stabilize. Buying the GR Corolla coming out of Motomachi may be have far superior build quality, along with the CTR
The Accord 2.0T with 252hp is probably the closest example at 3,350lbs and it hits 0-60 in 5.5s. It would certainly be no slouch with any 2.0T, but the CTR drivetrain for me would be the most desirable
Someone mentioned the PMC facility to build the Type S, and I missed this article earlier in the year. The biggest question would be production numbers. While I would love them to come out of this facility, I would hope they could ramp up production...
The final ITS packaging could still have a few key differences that would hopefully net a lower price.
Even with the same motor, they could have a lower total output identical to the FK8. Thus making it the 2nd best performance option in the Honda/Acura lineup
Less or none of the additional...
FK8 motor and built in the US might just make the ITS priced more reasonably. I didn't think of the CTR as the halo car for both brands. Pricing between the base TLX and the CTR does seem plausible.
I spent way too much time putting this together, but I wanted to get a sense of the competition Acura would have pricing the Type S. From a volume perspective, I think it is in their advantage to drop the TLX 2.0T and price it right at or slightly under the CTR ~$44k.
I would love to see a...
New to the forum, lurking in a lot of forums right now since we are spoiled for choice. I am one of the first 10 deposits on a GRC at a local dealership, but a Type-S is what would bring me over to Honda/Acura. The CTR seems like it is missing a lot of creature comforts coming from a BMW...
