can confirm that it is coming from the engine compartment. I was able to roll down my windows in a parking garage and hear it slightly louder. The car does a better job of dampening the lower engine sounds but not so much with the shriller sounds. I imagine the sound is louder under throttle/load.
I hear ya. Mine gets fairly loud too. I can hear it at acceleration 40-50 mph range and only when the tire noise rises at 60 mph on highway does it fade. I wouldn’t get your hopes up with Gary Force…this is a no win situation for everybody and will leave with disappointment.
Hey. I keep hoping it’s not normal and can be fixed, but am afraid it may be something we have to live with. I’ve torn the interior apart and know it isn’t loose wiring. I disconnected the nc modulator in case it was feedback from the fake engine noise and not the case. In doing some digging on...
I may be one of the few, but I will highly consider this route. If this is the last manual ICE to be produced, I would get a last year model to prolong the magic and potentially get a different color. I have black and I was heavily debating it between blue. We might all be singing a different...
I think the buzzing noise I’m hearing under throttle is a normal if not annoying engine sound perhaps the fuel injectors. It doesn’t seem to be coming from inside the cabin and is most likely a sound that the firewall is unable to fully remove. I heard a similar yet more muffled sound in the...
Wait are you talking about Gary Force Acura or just your local dealer. I’m assuming your local Canadian dealer based on the km mention. Canada quality of life is just better. The caucasity at my elite Nashville Acura doesn’t have time to deal with the trifling issues that a minority has in a car...
Well, just got the call from Gary Force Acura, not really impressed. They fixed the stripped screw, but will have to bring the car back to have led replaced since they didn’t have it in stock. Per service rep, shop foreman drove my car on the insterstate (of course he did), and road slowly to...
Nice, I hadn’t thought about that. I’ll ask if they would accommodate that. Now I can go down the wormhole of best oil and lose myself for a couple of days.
Yup, sorry wasn’t aware. I was going off of what someone else had mentioned but thinking now that may have been about pre orders not demos. I got my Type S delivered to St. Louis since they didn’t charge $5k markup and only charged $199 for doc fee. I hadn’t been back to Gary Force since I had...
This was the best comparison I’ve seen to date. I was actually shocked to see the Type S beat the Type R in a straight line (all publications seem to indicate that the Type S is 2/10 s slower) AND that it matched the Type R track time.
I’ve had a tinny metallic buzzing sound since day 1 under acceleration seemingly from the dash. I was carefully taking apart the glove console to see if it was the heater core and a backup no trim in that area had a screw with a stripped thread so I wasn’t able to remove it without applying...
To be fair, there was a two and a half week wait just to be able to schedule an appointment, but I don’t think that was because of loaner availability. If anything, I would imagine there are not many loaners available at Audi as there are probably way more vehicles in the shop and Audi doesn’t...
Also, I will say it was nice being able to reserve a loaner car and leaving with a TLX while the dealer checks out my rattle issues. Much better than an Impreza/RAV4 you would maybe get if there were any available at a Subaru/Toyota dealer.
Appreciate everyone’s feedback. Gonna save the money and let the oil do its thing. Is the synthetic oil in the bulk tank no good? Or is it just not motul quality.
Thanks, I understand the dealer perspective of not wanting to eat the charge. I’m more curious about whether it is beneficial to change the oil before the 7500 mile mark or if there would be no benefit given advances to engine/oil.
Hey, all. Took my Type S in to have some rattles fixed and was looking to get my first oil change done with around 1405 miles. However, dealer will not change under the maintenance program unless at 15% oil life (still closer to 90%). Should I pay for them to do an oil change or just wait until...
No, because googling the part number and seeing which Acura dealer is selling it cheapest with shipping costs will be the best way to determine the right dealer to purchase.
I destroyed my passenger wheel on a high lip curb turning into the hardware store! Such a sweet mod to shave a couple ounces of alloy off the rim to improve roll resistance and aerodynamics! Highly recommended.
42700-31M-A91 for new stock wheel. They ain’t cheap!
I installed 3/4 Black Type S emblems around the sides and rear on my black/black. Those three definitely look better than the chrome imo as they are more inconspicuous. I’m leaving the front and back A mark in chrome as it breaks up the black, but am going back and forth on whether or not to do...
