From what I’ve been told by other car owners, I’m pretty sure the cloned ecu can also be detected, as far as tunes go you can always flash it back to stock, but if you’re looking for warranty work I do not think it’s going to be applicable.
Got everything mounted today, so far zero issues, big shout to Mr. Pebler for the center cap recommendation.
Would 100% do business with apex again, they have a customer for life.
The new and “revised” knurling are currently in rotation and being made, my shipment will be here next week and I will update when I get them mounted.
Got jailbroken today, have the base Hondata map uploaded until I get the HVI in the mail, then I will go with the phearable tune.
Odd question, my parking sensors are disabled since the car was jail broken, is that normal?
It’s only an issue because of the way Michelin makes their tires, not apex’s fault, also they are fixing the issue with Michelins and their wheels so they are top notch in my book.
Before the DE5 I had a 2005 Dodge ram 2500 with a 5.9l Cummins and a G56 6-speed manual, lifted 6” with 35” tires, drove that thing for 13 years, it had 220k miles on it when I sold it, very bittersweet.
I’ve had nothing but issues with the wheels tbh, I’m glad apex is doing me a solid, hopefully I have more success with the new set.
Ceramic didn’t do much for the brushed other than making them easier to clean.
Apex is replacing my brushed clear with anthracite wheels, they have the revised knurling to accommodate the Michelins, they are currently in rotation and for sale but they are out of stock for the 19x9.5 +45, service has been ok, they have a sale going on right now so they are pretty busy...
Following up, not really feeling the love from apex to be honest, was told I would be contacted Monday in regards to my issues, nobody has reached out or emailed me as of yet, kind of dissapointing.
I’m not one to comment on mass production so I don’t have a say.
Personally I think they are fine the way they are but the issue with Michelin tires is potentially a problem for people like me who don’t plan on running any other brand of tires, I don’t plan on doing a lot of hardcore track...
