That hurts! I got mine with zero options just under $60k, so it was within spitting distance of what an ITS wouldāve come out to at the time with the ADM
Surprisingly enough I ended up picking up a 6 speed CT4v Blackwing at the beginning of the year! There were still crazy markups on the Integra and Golf R at the time, and I was coming from a ā16 GTI so I figured Iād go for something different and give this rwd thing a shotā¦
still always take a...
I just went with ordinary black raven to complete the sleeper build. I think Cadillac could take a note from Acura on the colors front - theyāre lacking a good grey like LCM, and their choice of special edition colors is dubious at best (the latest example being what I would describe as a...
Yeah definitely a bit of a practicality tradeoff, although the headroom significantly improves in the Blackwing when you option it without the sunroof. I did manage a 6ā3ā passenger behind me (at just about 6 feet myself). Wouldnāt want to do it for a long time, but works in a pinch.
I donāt...
I ended up picking up a new 24 CT4v Blackwing at the end of 23 for $58k. That car doesnāt need to hit $70k if youāre not interested in the non-performance upgrades (e.g. seats, sunroof, carbon fiber, etc). My car has the same engine/trans/suspension as the $90k special editions sitting on...
A fairly common nitpick Iāve seen in ITS reviews is the barebones approach Acura took with the digital gauge cluster. The gauge set up does not change at all in sport & sport+ modes, save a red outline around the gauges and a yellow needle.
This is definitely a step below what can be found in...
Was curious to see whether any current ITS owners on the forum opted for the upgraded titanium shift knob.
Car and Driver had a rather cheeky comment about only springing for this option if youāre interested in branding the h-gate pattern on your hand in the summer. Is it actually that...
To expand on the interior point - one of my few critiques on the type is that the interior can feel somewhat cobbled together, and itās civic roots can show through. I think the dash is nicer in the BW than the type S (I recall seeing in the general Integra forum a while back that the entire...
I think this is exactly right. And since I never hit highway speeds in my test drive of the BW, I donāt think I got to test its full fun potential. But since Iām looking for a daily driver (and to mostly stay out of trouble on the roads) I think the Type is is the better call for this reason.
Although my only other thread to date is comparing the Type S to another car, I promise I actually like this car! Just think comparisons provide for some lively debate, and sounds like everyone has some time on their hands given supply chain constraintsā¦
I only began looking at the BW because...
I think of all the features the Type S is missing, the omission of moonroof is the only one that makes sense to me because of 1) the significant increase in structural rigidity for the added power, 2) increased headroom for a racing helmet on track days and 3) what I assume would be a fairly...
This is great insight. Do you recall any preferences on the Golf R seating vs the ITS? Something Iāve been curious to hear a firsthand perspective on
I think the Elantra N and FL5 fall into a somewhat separate and distinct category of boy racer models that the ITS and Golf R were attempting to tone down (although I definitely agree the N is the best value and FL5 best driver in the broad hot hatch/sedan category).
Iāve tried talking myself...
Iām generally not a fan of āif you donāt like it, move alongā arguments, because then things never change improve.
I agree that, practically speaking, if fit & finish isnāt improved in the short term then some folks might need to decide to move on to a different car (and OP has said as much...
Generally agree on the fitment/panel gap front, since a lot of examples could be a result of poor dealer work after they install accessories. But I think paint is a legitimate criticism - it seems like it could be remedied fairly easily by Acura with some additional effort, which shouldnāt be a...
Respectfully disagree.
The GTI is a historic driverās car, without which we wouldnāt have the civic type r, integra type r or now the Integra type s.
Youāre saying taking that car and adding power and an awd system somehow makes it not a driverās car? That seems like some arbitrary gatekeeping...
I think the Golf R is still fairly tuneable (historically, APR has made pretty good power gains with just flashes or hardware upgrades, for example) and the cast iron block should be pretty sturdy for additional boost etc.
