Bumping this thread in April. Any leads? I purchased the Tomica Honda Integra, but would love to see an official DE5 in 1:18 or even 1:43. Being a North American only model seems to have limited interest from model makers overseas…
Back on stock summer tires/wheels a couple of days ago. I put 2618 miles (4213 km) on the Vredestein Wintrac Pro tires. I used 245/40r18 size.
Quick review:
1. good dry grip in the cold. Warmest I drove them was 65 F (18 C), and they were surprisingly capable at that temp.
2. Excellent...
Thank you for this. I live in Cleveland (ie Rust Belt), so drilling the floor is a definite “no”, but otherwise, having a spare for road trips is worth the purchase.
I enjoy the grippiness of the ITS perforated leather. Go for it! I did not choose Alcantara simply from preference. I thought about adding the heated steering wheel, but it has no Type S markings, so a no-go.
Thanks for posting with instructions. The wiring pictures are also helpful. I plan to try this in the spring, when it’s warm enough to spend time in the car doing this.
I went with a similar setup. I just pulled the trigger, after a month of considering, on a set of Sparco Podios in 18 x 8 +45 ($215 each), with Vredestein Wintrac Pros in 245/40r18, whose diameter very closely matched our OEM 19s. Tire Rack indicates these will fit. We’ll find out tomorrow...
My stable, as in my signature. Doesn’t include wife’s Buick Enclave or my son’s manual CR-Z. My wife’s Enclave is the only automatic in the family right now.
I have 5.74% for 60 months through Chase. Acura Financial wanted 8.4% in July for my top tier credit score, my credit union wanted 5.9%. Other than the 8%, not bad for the times. Acura was not, and is not, offering special rates for ANY Type S models.
Nope. ITS is the “outside car”. NSX and S2000 are always inside, they get way too much attention when I leave them out overnight. ITS is more incognito :) unless someone is a car nerd like me. I ultimately need a way to fit two four post lifts into my two-car garage, or to add garage space...
Good to know how the ITS behaves when driven in anger.
I feel much more confident in my ITS than I do in the S2000 or NSX, both of which have limits high above my personal limits. Want to take the ITS to Mid-Ohio for an HPDE at some point.
I addressed this in detail the first post of this thread, but have refined a bit after 6 weeks of ownership.
Nothing beats the S2000 shifter. If the S2000 shifter is a 10/10 (and it is :) ), NSX and ITS (and by extension, FL5) are 9s. I’d call the NSX 9.3 and the ITS 9.1, they are that...
A couple of comments after 1000 miles:
Likes: the doors have a small pocket just big enough for a 16 ounce bottle of water, or a small drink cup from a fast food restaurant.
I also like that the cup holders are depressed enough that a standard soft drink single serve bottle does not get in...
A trifecta of Honda and Acura manual driving goodness, reflected in the license plates. My NSX is a pop-up NA2, but I prefer the plate it already has. The ITS is an ideal daily driver for someone who has either a NSX or S2000 (or like me, both) and wants to have some entertainment with...
I am also 55 and bought an ITS in July. Just go enjoy it when you acquire it next year. I enjoy the pops, too. I’m going to keep driving manual cars until I physically can’t anymore.
I believe he's still a NSX owner. If so, he's now he's the third one other than myself, that I'm aware of, who has picked up an ITS. What is it they say about great minds? LOL
