STEK, SunTek, XPEL are the 'go to' films for paint protection. While the installer is important, so is the film. The best film installer in the world cannot care for a film that will yellow, distort, or peel after two years on the car. Perform the due diligence and you'll be fine. Watch out for...
It should but a cautionary tale, but it's not and it won't be. How many times does this need to be discussed? And I still can't make heads or tails if this video was created for clicks or out of sheer ignorance. It's shocking that in 2024 enthusiasts still don't understand how a chassis...
We're for sure in the minority. I agree, more power in this car doesn't make sense to me. I never thought I'd say this but the stock power levels are perfect. It just works!
The value proposition is questionable if you're looking at it from a practical perspective; however, I realize a bad value prop has never stopped an enthusiast from spending money. If you plan to tune the car, the gains from these aftermarket intakes disappear. In other words, unless you get...
Many years ago Michelin put out language on this topic that tires with more aggressive compounds should not be used in tempuratutes "at or near freezing". I believe that language is no longer used by Michelin. The general rule of thumb is tempuratures below 40°F.
I lived in the DC area for many years and I would not run summer tires in the winter months. Some will argue you can work around it by taking it easy or letting them warm up first. I disagree. Do the reasonable thing and put on all seasons at a minimum. If you have a garage and another vehicle...
For $1,500+ I expect the intake to fit properly. It's only one of the most expensive intakes on offer for this platform. The end user shouldn't have to Jerry rig and finesse what should be a finished product. For all that one could opt for the PRL HVI for a 1/3 the cost.
Jester is in Florida as well so that may not be helpful. I also recall he either is out of the country or will be soon. You can send the ECU directly to Hondata as well. You have options.
Agree on the chintzy tension clamps. Black tension clamps would also look better. If you're having difficulty finding a good solution in black you could also spray paint them.
For your use case, not sure bolt ons make much sense. Your greatest gain will be from the tune by far. Tune the car stock and go from there. The finished product will likely be more power than you will need in a FWD, 3,200 lb. sedan on the street.
Paying $99 for a minor change that takes the tuner 90 seconds is non-sense. Contact @JesterTuned . He doesn’t nickle and dime for every little change. He's also tuned quite a few FL5s to date.
The guy who sells ppf for a living is telling you it helps with resale value? What did you expect him to say?
The reality is you are opting for ppf to protect the exterior of the car, full stop. There is no tangible resale component. That money is gone. It should be viewed as a consumable. Stop...
There's no argument to be made. You're not getting that money back on resale, none of it. The dealership doesn't care about ppf or tint or ceramic coating during trade-in or purchase valuations. Excellent condition or average condition will fetch you the same trade-in value from a dealership...
Over the last several MYs, price increases are announced in January and/or May/June of each year. I expect a $1,000 increase to MSRP for the DE5 in January 2025.
I completely agree; however, most aren't willing to take responsibility for their actions which is why you see the prevalent "return the car to stock and take it to the dealer" talk track. In modifying the vehicle you accept the risk of anything that goes wrong related to the modification. Pay...
