I tried to record something with my phone and the bass just doesn't show up in the recording.. well i wish you got better results. I'm real happy, but i am going to upgrade the rest of the system just because i spend so much time in my car.
Maybe the amp in the A-Spec is different.?
I'm about to go to a component system using Focal and a Jlaudio HD 900/5 when i get to my amp that's currently installed i'll post the specs.
Also make sure your wiring is correct on the sub and that you bought the 4 ohm sub, so a dual coil 4 ohm sub wired like in this picture will give you the required 2 ohm load. If the sub is wired wrong it won't output the sound correctly.
You have to set the EQ manually in Spotify those other settings don’t do it justice here is a picture of my Spotify settings and I listen to everything from rock to rap to heavy metal.
You upgraded your stock sub to an 8 in rockford punch? And you don't notice a difference? Did you check to see if the sub was working, because i notice a tremendous difference. If you are streaming through spotify maybe check your spotify eq. I did have to change my radio eq settings and make eq...
Update on the sub. I think it's broken in now and it sounds incredible compared to the stock sub.
I think this weekend i'm going to take apart the doors and look at what i can do to upgrade those speakers as well. This car really needs a better EQ.
Polyfill can help extend bass response, but this depends on the Qts and VAS of the sub itself. I pasted a google explanation below
begin of google search
Qts is calculated as the square root of (Qes^2 + Qms^2).
A low Qts value (typically below 0.4) indicates that the driver is well-damped and...
NO, sadly there's not room for that.
But really with 3 hours of work and that sub you'll be kicking along in no time. I used metal sheers to cut that box though, it's tough plastic.
There were these foam spacers between the box and the sidewall panel that allow the speaker excursion room to move. I don't see or hear anything odd so it seems to be ok. I think they were about 1.5 -2 inch. The rockford is much tighter and i don't see it moving as much as that stock speaker.
I didn't measure the enclosure because i live in south texas and it's been hot. I knew the speaker would fit because i took it all apart and measured the speaker before i bought the rockford. I stuck my hand inside to get an idea of depth and it's a fair amount but you're not fitting a Dub 7 in...
Holy shit i wish!!!
The rms of that sub is too much for the amp, it would be a flubby mess. You have to find a sub that's 150 watt or below.
IF you want a JL then look at this one.

But keep in mind this JL i pasted is a 4 ohm...
Hey thanks for catching that, i edited the post....i didn't realize i wrote 12 in sub....that's what i get for using my phone on that first post. I installed an 8
Yea, and that's why i did it myself. it's super easy if you take your time. You will have to trim that speaker box at the top and you will need to either trim the speaker at the bottom or also trim the bottom of the box. The reason i trimmed the speaker at the bottom ( and im referring to the...
The Stock sub is 8 inch and only weights 29oz, and the surround material is paper. Where as the RF i installed is about 5lbs and here are the stats. It is not flubby at all, this sub removed the flubbiness i was getting. I listen to 60% rock/metal and the rest just pop/mixed with rap or even...
