So a little update to my situation with the harsh ride. I rode in my father's porsche macan in the same areas and turns out the roads are just sh*t lol. It was a little better in the SUV but still uncomfortable.
Also, put the stock wheels back on for a little bit and decided if I keep them...
In my mind, I had to protect the whole front because my girlfriends gr86 front end was covered in chips (looked like bugs after a road trip) after about 6 months, and I didnt want to suffer the same fate.
I also already knew that my commute to work is essentially like going through a sand...
I considered doing touch up but I held off. Now it doesn't bother me as much since it happened a while ago, and I'm sure there will be more added. I might do something about it wayyyy later down the road. Mine is also very small so that factors in too.
I had the hole front including fenders done. A few weeks later I got two small rock chips in the rear passenger door 🙃. I don't even know how that happens.
That's interesting because most videos I've seen they did remove a rib from the bumpstop. It made sense to me since you're losing travel by lowering the car, and by cutting them you basically regain the travel that was lost.
My roads could just be that bad lol.
Also makes me think about how...
Everything fit and went on as it should. Ordered fl5 springs as they weren't available for de5. Again it's only bad over rough pavement, and the roads here basically have mini curbs built into them.
I might be complaining about the roads more so than the springs 😆
Curious if anybody else here...
I can't remember what my car rode like stock, but on the h&r springs I feel like my spine is going to shatter over sharp bumps (i.e. changes in pavement height or small potholes). I live in vegas so roads are not good. It almost feels like Im bottoming out, but I cut down the bumpstops as...
Installed PRL rear motor mount this weekend. So far there is slightly more vibration at idle and around 3k rpm, which is to be expected and hardly noticable after a day. While creeping forward or reverse, I do feel a lot more vibrations. I'm hoping the mount will break in and the vibrations will...
Ordered OEMs sensors just to be safe. The guy at discount tire kept saying that I would have to bring in the car to have them properly synced, but I ignored him lol. They synced up within a mile of driving.
I went with the PRL because I didn't really care about the looks. I just wanted more "woosh" and to keep inlet temps the same or lower than stock. I also liked that this was a closed box design for that reason.
I wasn't expecting any real hp gains and don't feel any either, but I love hearing...
