If you want to hear the spooling more, its muffled by the intake track. Removing the airbox for a cone type filter is the most common thing, though a dealer could raise an eyebrow most won't for just an airfilter provided there is nothing else (but also calls to question is the ECU tuned, are...
No issues parking it...think of all the sports cars in winter climates that don't see a crank for months at a time. I have done so for 2+ months at a time the past 10 years with an extra car.
In fact, better to just leave it and not 'start it every once in a while' which causes a bit more harm...
By the book, A its just oil year 1, oil and filter 2. Some dealers eat the $5 and do the filter. B (year 2) has filter and other inspections that are part of any normal annual inspection if your state requires that anyway (PA does)
If you are lucky, you will not get the optional overfill to...
From my original response, I have seen more data that support the FF is is the Type 2.0 oil based on its add pack which does include high moly. Its a good oil and I would not have any issue keeping it in there as long as you want for a street application.
Given that its not the ho hum Honda...
OK, bit of oil geeking but not going too deep here, that is what BITOG is for.
Totally appreciate your posting your experiences @Victorofhavoc , I was a bit cheeky on then notion of a testing agency which I disagree with. Single unit tests that show oil 1 better then oil 2 sure, and that's...
Um, tested by who? Amsoil? :) Not knocking them as their Signature Series (SS) is likely what you are referring to as its their premium product, and excellent: but for the money other small blenders have arguably better products depending on what you intend to use the oil for (long drains, shear...
GDI engines suffer from fuel dilution, just a matter of how much.
Short tripping increases this, good long HWY runs helps reduce it.
Sample and test at a quality lab is the only way to find out fuel dilution (and the effective viscosity during service) of the oil.
No ones schnoz is capable...
I find 3 to be warm, 2 to be fine, 1 to be barely there as far as ass warmers are concerned.
Compared to other cars I have sampled (many rentals, owned several germans, have installed aftermarket one sin the day), its certainly weaker and there is no OWW OWW OWW german setting either.
This...
There are some very well informed people on line...and there are some less informed. Same for dealers, those that understand these topics, and those that are clerks. I find unfortunately, the clerk to clue ratio favors the clerks at dealerships.
You can spend hours learning about the properties...
my comment is about value not wear: you are spreading tire wear over two sets so you get more value out of it, the sunk cost is the rims. HP/AS will get you likely 50% more miles ompared to a summer compounds, so that helps over time. I find the conti's so much better in temps under 50f then...
Nothing makes a body shop happier then seeing cars with summer tires in winter regions.
If you will keep your car for years (and why not?) then the 1400 is amortized over time....and after 4 years meh. You also are putting miles on another set of rubber. The sunk cost is the rims.
Slight...
Lots of cars honda has made with this design on OE clutches over 100K provide us data points. Bad drivers shorting clutch life, not rev hang, is what one could surmise from the data. Majority of those cars also don't have any auto-rev feature either.
If its more pronounced without the rev...
For the holidays, we had 10 days of travel so rented a car rather than put miles on ours. Snagged anAudi Q3, stock turbo 4 888 platform, lazy 8sp auto that wants to short shift.
Solid but boring vehicle to drive. My wife commented : is there a 6cyl available? its not fun (she has a X1 with...
Yup, since the dawn of the idiot light MFGs figured out they need to have a hidden reserve because a person is smart, but people are stupid.
I do like the germans approach to telling you you have approximately X miles left but once you get to 10 it just goes to -- and you pucker up a bit . We...
That is worse then what I see, but even 1-2g is way too much IMHO and not what I have dealt with in my other cars the past 35 years. Early on I filled a few times in NJ, drove away and noticed even the fuel gauge was not at 10/10 which was my first clue that perhaps its design and filler neck...
This is the norm for me as well, using newer stations such as Wawa in NJ and PA (I am on the border), I can get another gallon+ typically. Given the small tank its easy to see when it only fills under 10gal vs 11 or so I expect when I run it down to 'empty' knowing it will go to 0 with 1-1.5g...
Too early, just dumping good fluid. My conservative POV is every 3-4 years 30-50k as I drive the car but if its a low mile example I would do it at 5-6 years as additives do degrade over time. Gear boxes are sealed so its not a dirty environment.
unless you were very un-level, draining and 5.7 qt is fine and the last little drip drip really doesn't amount to more then a few ounces. No different then if you were at 5.7 and you pulled out .2, 5.5 is perfectly within the service limits :D
The car will run fine overfilled to 6 quarts...I...
Yes keep it above freezing in terms of storing however many of the cars were delivered in winter in the norther part of the company. Driving (gently) at 35d as needed if you garage the car is not too bad in that the tires have some heat in them. None of those cars exploded (mine included: took...
