That could be good or bad, we get 60% of our imported oil from Canada, plus the Northeast gets a lot of electricity from them, if he includes oil then prices will go up.
At the moment we don’t need higher oil prices since it will drag gas up. We need to get “Drill Baby Drill” making mass amounts of oil and gas along with exports before we tariff others oil.

I hate to point this out, but the US oil industry is pumping more oil than any other country, our storage and refinery capacity is maxed out, and building a new one or expanding into new fields will take several years and billions of dollars. Plus we are exporting west Texas crude overseas. The oil companies see the coming expansion of EV's (hence this site) and the accompanying loss of revenue, making them reluctant to expend those billions. Plus they don't want to pump more as that will lower prices and that is the last thing they want to do. They maintain a balance of supply against demand to keep the prices high and maximize profit.

Thats only Alaska trust me Ive done research on this. Alaska residents actually get paid because of it they have zero State Tax.

And Saudi Arabia has the most exports of any country. Thats why we need to start exporting. If we started to export our reserve wouldn’t be filled. The previous administration stopped all drilling and began to import a-lot of fuel and the got rid of our reserves and gave it all to foreign countries. To “protect our environment”. And then everyone wonder why we are in so much debt out of all the countries. Its because we haven’t drilled in 4 years and we haven’t exported oil in ages, since we are trying to “protect the environment”.

I would love to add an electric vehicle that is capable to the garage. I hope that the price is not so crazy. Remember VW, the Scout was a working person's truck. Let's hope it stays that way. Does anyone know a ballpark price range?
Scout has stated $60k as a target price and out the door prices close to $50k “with incentives” (which may be long gone by likely 2028 delivery). In defense of Scout the projected content level is NOT a stripper with above average range (300+ miles) and 2 high output motors (0-60 3.5 sec). Depending on customer demand lower content models may become available over time BUT cash flow needs of a new manufacturer will likely demand that early models have higher level of content.

Im getting my info from people who work for the government in my family.

And OPEC and EIA are all government ran, and guess what the government likes to lie to the new outlets and organizations so take those numbers with a grain of salt. We already know that OPEC ruined USA exports of oil because they raised exporting oil price.

And heres a bit about Alaska:

When the Bronco came out, it started at $29,999. Our 4 Door Outer Banks Sasquatch ended up being $65,000 after we added all the tech on it we wanted, so a huge range difference between starting point and what we spec’d out.

The references from Scout were ‘as low as’ $51K I believe it was, but that is without us all knowing what ‘packages’ are available.

Let's just ask ourselves is oil the future ? And if not what is being done to develop alternatives ? My answer is because big oil controls when the other assets come online. Once they have all their infrastructure in place they will ween society from oil to their next controlled energy. You think big oil didn't see this coming once they control it the mines the technology it will come online but on their timeframes. We're the sheep big oil is the herder Things that don't make sense to us makes millions for investors. Ba. Aaaaaa !!!!!!!

There is some crazy wishful thinking in this thread. $60k starting price may come to fruition, but no way will they deliver the vehicle that many on this forum are hoping for at that price. Look at the multiple threads on towing tech, infotainment, and audio options. The vehicle people are hoping for starts at $80k and goes up from there.

A great example of this is the Rivian. I'm looking to replace my 2016 Grand Cherokee in a year or two. Buying a Scout will obviously extend that timeline a year or 2 further out, but I'm willing to wait based on what I've seen so far. I've priced out a few vehicles and a Rivian outfitted how I want it comes in over $100k. A BMW X5 outfitted the same way is $78k. I fully expect the Scout to fit in the middle of those numbers and unfortunately, I'm out at anything above $70-75k. I just can't justify that amount on a vehicle.

The base price vehicle may be $50K with the incentives. That means, it's really $58K for the base vehicle when the incentives are gone. A reasonably spec'd vehicle is likely over $70K. I will bail at that point I think.

So 50k with Federal incentives (not including any state) and I assume that is EV model price. But who knows if that's the 350 battery pack though. Add the Harvester, might add 3K to that price, maybe less? 35 tires are part of the off-road package. Maybe that will include front locker and sway bar? So maybe 6Kto 8K? So call it 61K? Still a good vehicle for 65K when all said and done.

We don't know if Federal incentives will be gone by then. I hope Scout is really taking a look at if it is gone maybe they try to lower the price to make it a little more affordable to everyone. They must know that a lot of people ordered because of price point. Right?

Yep and considering they are working on trim levels.

Is that confirmed? I hope that they just do EV 350 battery pack and harvester 500 range. Makes life so much simpler. Lol. But I know they won't.
