Yeah, I'm sure the test are very controlled and they probably do them at a slower speed that Gen Pop doesn't drive regularly, like 55 on the FWY

Took possession of a Limited i Force Max last night and drove to Vegas afterwards.
Took off late night so absolutely no traffic. Set cruise control to 77 MPH and got 19.4 MPG according to dashboard MPG. Load was only 3 people and a few bags, nothing crazy.
Not near the advertised 24 MPG HWY was disappointing. Driving back home later tonight so I'll see what those results bring.

One thing to be aware of as well...tire pressure, to much psi in the tires it will affect gas milage.

they ship the 4runners at like 50 PSI or something crazy make sure the cold PSI pressure is down to to the recommendations on the driver side door, should help with acceleration and gas mileage.

For sure.
I did check before we left and it was at 38 PSI. Door jam shows 33 if memory serves me right

yeah 38 cold is really high.. i noticed on mine that when the tires are inflated to high the vehicle has problems “coasting” at speed and it takes more of the gas pedal to get it up to speed

id recommend checking your tire pressure in the am before the vehicle has been driven.. to get a true “cold” pressure reading

I know low/lower PSI increases rolling resistance which equals lower MPG.
I've always run higher PSI than the door jam recommendation and got good MPG.
On my '20 Si I run it at 38 PSI while door jam states F33/R32. I can get 44 MPG vs the advertised 36 @ 77 MPH CC setting.
Not denying your experience, just stating mine.

Took another road trip, this time to Palo Alto/Bay Area. Left real early to avoid any traffic and minimal use of AC. CC set to 74 this time and got 21.5 MPG

Reset the MPG once I arrived. 200 miles of driving around the Bay. 60/40 mix of HWY/city. Dashboard shows 22.1 MPG.
I only drive in normal mode

Wow these numbers are kinda discouraging, I was hoping to be closer to window sticker numbers when we get ours. My Nephew bought a Tacoma Hybrid last year and says he gets over 24 MPG mixed driving and that's what I was hoping for.

Hey everyone. Finally filled up the TRD Pro for the first time. The dealer said the first tank was 91 octane and that is what I refilled it with. Here are some stats:

- 287 Miles Driven
- Car Computer says 19.1 MPG average
- 13.785 gallons in and when the mileage is divided by the gallons, it equates to 20.81 MPG
- After filling up, the computer said I had 332 miles in range.

As for driving, about 3/4 of the miles were on ECO. I live in rural MT, so a few of the roads are 35-40 MPH, but the rest I was between 65-70. I did mildly punch it a few times, just to feel the torque! We are at around 3,500 FT in altitude and the roads aren't that great up here. They are all chip sealed and pretty rutted out. It was a bit windy the last few days as well. So, still breaking it in I would guess. I'll repost after the next tank. Thanks!

Of course. Trying to get non hybrid number of responses lol.
Came back from the Bay today and got 22.7. The picture shows the last leg of the trip. Same settings, CC set to 74. Did use the AC for a majority of this trip. Last thing to note, I'm at ~2,030 miles. MPG has improved for sure and I'm also driving a tad slower than my initial post.
