Installed - FitCamX 4K Integrated Dash Cam (Tacoma Model)

Just installed a FitCamX 4K dashcam in my 2025 4Runner ORP. Will skip the install pics/instructions, there are many threads about this for the Tacoma.

After installing, I noticed the bottom of the unit does not lineup exactly with the bottom of the windshield camera area. I emailed FitCamX to see if they are going to make a 4Runner specific model, if something was wrong with the one I was sent, or if I installed something wrong. However, the install process was pretty straightforward and I didn't run into any issues.

I just ordered a Dongar + Viofo A119 Mini 2 so I can mock that up and see if I like that setup better.

FitCamX got back to me very quickly...they said they have not released the 2025+ 4Runner version yet.

However, although this one is 75% there, I don't think I'll keep it.

It just bugs me that the outline of the camera /replacement shroud doesn't line up with the shape of the one it replaced.

The Toyota one is less integrated than a FitCamX, not to mention worse performance specs.

However, for now, I'm returning the FitCam until they make a 4Runner-specific one.

I bought the fitcamx model that said it was for the 2025 4Runner and same problem the original guy on this thread had. Plastic piece doesn’t line up oem. I’m still waiting on a response and my money. But besides that was fine.

Where did you buy it from? FitCamX said on their site they never said it was 4Runner compatible -- which is true.

Wow that makes sense. I bought it from some place called stickerfab. What through me off to was when I emailed them. They told me they might start just sending them out with tint or something. Which seemed crazy to me because it’s supposed to be an oem fit. Might want to stay away from this business then.

I don't think it was malicious, I think they just assumed the Tacoma and 4Runner have the same module shape and didn't realize that they don't.

I'm guessing that FitCamX will eventually release an actual 4Runner for.

Yeah makes sense I was willing to wait but was told they didn’t have an eta for the 4Runner. Then was also told it will also be going up 104% because of the tariffs.

Ultimately I ordered a hardwire kit from Amazon that plugs into the same harness and connected it to a A119 Mini 2.

ugh the Mangoal stuff is 100% garbage. They aren't CE/UL compliant, not to mention they literally cloned my entire product line and work. If you're interested, I have a quick reference chart showing 4 different power options for your T4R, none of which require accessing the fusebox . Our 16-pin Toyota SKU uses actual TE connectors and terminals (same source as OEM!) and our USB module has true 5/9/12V USB-C compliant output, designed 100% in-house (mangoal uses an off the shelf 5V module). I had to pony up a ton of money to get liability insurance and do real testing on adapters that plug into the Safety Sense modules US-based companies actually have to worried about getting sued.
