Hi all,
We are super excited to be able to get our hands on the 4Runner early on, and would like to share with everyone what we have done to it so far!
A quick overview:
Wheels, Tires, Fender Flares:
NYTOP ADV-Classic monoblock forged (custom wrapped) 17x8.5 +25mm offset, about 23.5 lbs per wheel. They are wrapped in Nitto Ridge Grappler 35x12.5 inch tires. We find this offset fits perfectly with our 1 inch wider NYTOP Carbon Fiber Fender Flares.
Suspension:
We worked with Icon Vehicle Dynamics to help test fit their first set of 2.5 shocks and billet UCA and rear links on our 4Runner. It’s set at 2.5 inch front and half inch rear lift.
Hydraulic bump stops coming next.
Underbody protection and Recovery Gear:
NYTOP billet carbon steel recovery points. In our testings, we find that carbon steel is generally a better material for recovery points for safety reasons.
Full aluminum skids: fits both hybrid and non-hybrid powertrains. It’s a 3 piece modular design, and it allows for an easy removal of the front piece (4 bolts) for less messy oil changes.
On the rear, we have the NYTOP titanium axle back exhaust pipe, which Increases ground clearance and enhances the exhaust tone. We see a 5-7 dB of volume increase throughout the rev range.
NYTOP rock sliders. They are non-tubular. It offers a 15° angles for better clearance on the bottom, while maintaining a complete flat top offering over 6 inches of stepping surface.
Next week we are going to visit Baja Designs HQ to help them test some new lighting kits for the new 4Runner. We are also going to put on our front bumper in the same week. Stay Tuned for that!
