One week of owning it and driven approximately 200 miles of combination city, highway and back road jaunts. No rattles to note as of yet. There is a very distinctive "buzzzzz" when letting off the throttle while in gear and revs are high. This is very reminiscent of the DC chassis Integras. Pretty sure this is normal and I don't mind it.

I learned to drive on FWD cars and it was the platform I stuck with for the first 6 years of my automotive enthusiast life. With that being said it's kind of instinctive for me to drive the ITS as I already have a good sense of the FWD platform and can kind of easily predict what the car will do. There is indeed torque steer, but as others have mentioned, it is a torque steer that is a night and day difference to torque steer found in other FWD cars.

I do prefer RWD and AWD cars as the platform to get if you're looking for something that falls in line with a more traditional motorsports sense of being. The ITS is very much a street car, but is a far stretch from a race car. With that being said, one simply cannot expect the ITS to do race car things and behave the way a race car would. If Honda would have followed the PORSCHE ethos of making a race car a street car like what they have done with all GT3's, then it wouldn't be as comfortable, compliant and as easy to just drive it as it is. It would be really cool. But how many people do you know daily drive a GT3? It just doesn't happen. It's usually their second car that gets driven on weekends. The ITS is something that is sporty and fun that you can very easily daily drive. Sports car: yes. Race car: no.

I agree that the wheels and tires on this car are a missed opportunity for HONDA/ACURA to make something that truly 100% appeals to the newer generation of car buyers and catered to the modern enthusiast. The fact that ALL Honda cars like this continue to come equipped with wheels and tires that appear "sunken in" just goes to show that they're really trying to be hip to the latest car trends with (wide body FL5, over fenders DE5, aggressive styling, distinct body lines, a pinned up high rear end, a pronounced hood line and sleek silhouette) but still fail to execute one of the most important factors of it all.... how the vehicle sits. Nobody wants to see a sports car sitting 4x4 status on rubber band low profile tires and high offset wheels. Low profile tires were a thing of the early 2000's and it should stay there forever. I'm not saying they should make it stance-boy air ride & lay frame, but maybe follow what BMW, AUDI and the Germans have done with their cars. A nice and somewhat flush, lowered factory stance. Hell, even the NC1 NSX missed that mark imho. Idk... It would just be nice to buy a car like this and not have to worry about messing around with suspension, wheels and tires right off the bat. I hate to already be shopping around for suspension stuff, but to me...it just doesn't look right in factory form.

Clutch pedal effort could be heavier for me. I prefer a firmer clutch pedal rather than it feeling like you're stepping on a container of room-temperature I can't believe its not butter. Not a deal breaker... just takes some time getting used to. I could also see that the soft clutch pedal would appeal to a broader range of buyers, so, can't fault them for that.

Shifter feels just right to me. I'm not really expecting there to be zero left and right slop when in gear. Given how rubbery the shifter is, they've done a really good job still making it feel precise and accurate and.

Rear vents.... have yet to have anyone in the back seat. But if they complain, they all have UBER.

Rear seat back and rear seat bottoms could have been matched with the same material as the front seats. It honestly looks cheap and am kind of upset about that. But not enough to make me not buy one.

LKAS was annoying as hell until I figured out how to turn it off.

One thing that drives me INSANE (and I don't think it's the car but rather iOS), is that when using wireless apple carplay it'll do this weird thing where it automatically switches the car to "talk HFL mode" and the music playing will turn off all the speakers in the car except the center channel and only output music from there at a very high volume. I've noticed that it only does this when leaving my house and coming back... so it could have something to do with the device automatically switching over to a known WiFi. The only way to cancel out of this when it happens is to press the talk button on the steering wheel and then select "CANCEL" using the scroll wheel.

Overall I'm pretty happy that I have this car; however, I think that anyone looking at these should go in with set expectations of it. New buyers should know what the car is, how it behaves and basically do their homework on it (this also applies to ANY car not just this car). That way they're not expecting a race car for the street only to find out they bought a commuter car with really well engineered suspension and a potent powerplant, that also happens to be very engaging and fun to drive.

I’ve had mine now for about a year and 15,000 miles and my thoughts are that I really love how the car drives and looks from the exterior but the interior of the car makes it feel like it’s $27,000 and not $37,000. The interior quality is very below par and creates more rattles and noises than I have ever heard in a new car before. The road noise is another issue, it makes the car almost embarrassing to have rear passengers in. Also since the speakers are actually pretty good but the door panels are basically hollow, turning up the music only leads to speaker rattles as well.

my opinion is that unless you LOVE the 6MT, there is no reason to buy this car. It’s just too cheaply made for the price point and overall I do regret buying one.
This thread is specifically for the Type S Longer term impressions.

2024 Integra Type S, 2023 Macan GTS
Follow up at ~650 miles. Finally passed break-in protocol and had the full front bumper, hood, fenders and mirrors wrapped in PPF this week, so I had a chance to take it on a couple nice long drives in the past couple days. First was on the way back from Virginia, where I had to have the PPF installed; I've whined about it elsewhere on here but suffice to say my local installer tried to rip me off so I went to the tried and true installer that did my Macan- only reason I didn't want to initially was just because of the distance. And I got a stone chip on the way so that kind of validates the trepidation but that's neither here nor there- very happy with his work and it didn't cost me the $5k my local installer tried to quote me.

Anyway- took the long way back through Loudon county up to 70 (Waze "avoid tolls" was all it took...), but it was a great drive with very minimal traffic. Not the greatest curvy roads but it was scenic. And comfortable. One thing I instantly noticed was how I'd just gotten out of what I used to think were comfortable 18-way adaptive sports seats in my Macan (not my car just grabbed a pic off Google):

Acura Integra Long(er) term impressions 1691859430428

Mine are leather, as shown here- maybe Alcantara would be more comfortable but the wife needed cooled seats.

Anyway, my back was already complaining a bit by the time we got to Virginia, as it was a traffic-laden drive there. But that just disappeared in the Integra, and didn't show back up after another 2 hours of driving. These are the MOST COMFORTABLE seats in a sports car I've ever experienced hands down. Some people like to complain that the bottom is hard- THAT'S WHERE THE MAGIC IS AT. Just because a seat is soft doesn't make it comfortable! The seats are just friggin perfect. I'll report back once I've had it out to an autocross and again after a track session, but so far I LOVE them and wouldn't trade them for anything. They were my single biggest source of anxiety for this car before I owned it, and they're one of its greatest joys for me now. IMO they look great in the ebony trim too.

It's worth mentioning for anyone tracking my other complaint about this car- the noise. I've gotten over it. I wish it was gone, but after the last couple long drives I really didn't find it obtrusive at all so have just moved past it. When it does still show up I think it's louder than it should be and when I have it in the dealer in the next week or so for the horn not working I'll ask them to look into it, but for now suffice to say that I've accepted it, and it doesn't detract from the car in any substantial way.

This car just feels like a personal victory for me. Whether I've wanted to admit it to myself or not, I've been suffering through cars the past couple years trying to find a "forever car" and kept coming up short. Either I found a great car but it was too compromised for what I needed out of a single car (911, 718s), or just wasn't "sports car" enough (RS5)- and all too expensive- I was feeling pretty hopeless actually, and felt like I had screwed up so bad and lost too much money that I was going to just give in and get something cheap and boring until I had the appetite to start doing this again after the kids were out of college. As it turned out the timing was near perfect, as this little Acura feels like it was custom tailored to exactly what I need right now.

A car I can comfortably use every day even for dog stuff, works on long drives, and is an absolute riot on my favorite backroads to the point I only miss my Porsche for the ability to put the top down and the noise it made. I do not want for better driving dynamics- and I didn't think that would be possible out of a sedan this side of $100k. I can safely say it will be easy to be patient for four years until I can go P car shopping again.

Always enjoy your informative & articulate feedback. Going to pick my preorder up in a couple hours finally.

I've really been pushing my wife to make some time (we just had a baby though, so no rush) to let us go test drive a used Macan GTS. We have a 2020 Durango but the 2nd row has basically no room anyway. I'm 5'8" & can't back up my seat without interfering with a car seat or legs. Told her this vehicle doesn't have 3rd row, but probably more space & obviously won't even get into even mentally comparing Dodge against Porsche 🤣 But we don't need a third row anyway. We have 2 kids & can 100% say at least I won't be fathering any more. The new Sequoia she wants to look at is like $30k more than a used GTS! I don't think it's worth it, even without having driven either one yet.

Yeah I'd say definitely drive one, but be aware that IMO the Macan is more a plus-sized hot hatch than a small SUV. I'd think some sedans have more room... actually, yes my ITS has more room lol. But yes, the driving dynamics are magnificent. Better than almost anything else out there; gives the ITS legit competition and maybe on summer tires it could be better... it's certainly way faster and sounds better too- but no manual. But if size is remotely a concern, DEFINITELY go and thoroughly check one out, make sure it will work for you. I know those damn 3 row SUVs are outrageously expensive, but there's really no other way if you've got more than 2 kids, or need more room for your 2 kids!

Also I'll throw out the caveat that mine is a 95B.3; they've changed the Macan GTS twice now, and it is a straight up research project to try to come up with a clear delineation of what the differences are. I'm very, very happy with mine and think it's near perfect- but they changed a bunch of stuff for 22+ because the GTS took the place of the Turbo as the top trim level, and I never did get an opportunity to drive any of the older GTS models. Porsche swears it was more than just a tuning bump in power and I believe them; I had a '21 S before this one and a '15 S before that, and this car is night and day different in almost every way, but especially in handling. Up until this GTS, my S models did just feel like "really sporty SUVs", but this GTS hits different and I swear it's more capable and more fun to drive than that RS5 I had (shares the wonderful 2.9L "hot v" twin-turbo engine too BTW... as do the older ones).

Anyway, I'm sure the older GTS is still an absolute hoot but just be aware if it isn't mind-blowing then there may still be some reserve left for the 22+ models! (also why you may notice a significant price increase for 22+ models). If you can find one with PTV (Porsche Torque Vectoring) I would strongly recommend it if you have any interest in throwing it around on a back road.

I will begin our search more thoroughly now that my car is taken care of! Thanks for the info!

Wonderful info!

Actually...Mungenast Honda sells the CTR at MSRP. I passed on a white one a couple months ago for the ITS. They aren't taking any orders, even from local ol' me saying that it will take them 2 years to catch up on orders.
Yep they are one of the Best Honda and Acura Dealer in the STL area. Getting my ITS at the end of the month from them.

I have a couple friends that live near ya! So far there's only one other besides me that lives in St Charles. We should do a 3 car ITS cruise sometime! I live near 6 flags but drive all around.

Im game, time has been going so slow since I got the word they secured a ITS for me. It should be built this week. They are hoping for arrival last week of August. Acura sent them an extra allocation for a Tigers Eye w/ Orchid interior, The people in front of me passed up on it.

That's awesome! I hear you on the wait. Mine was preorder that I finally picked upon Saturday, 2 days ago. 😑
