Hello everyone! I'm new here, but have been reading through this thread which convinced me to pull the trigger on the KTuner with the Phearable 1.5R tune. Have about 1,300 miles on my '24 Integra A-Spec w/Tech, so I am guessing I should be good to go as far as break in.

This will be my first tune on any vehicle I've owned, have always just left them stock. It seems like everyone is having good luck with the phearable tune, and have also checked out the civicxi forum's thread on this which they also seem to be having good luck. The main reason it was tough for me to pull the trigger on the tuner/tune is the powertrain warranty that came with the car.

Has anyone had a powertrain issue after tuning and used the warranty? I'm almost certain they can tell you've tuned it, even if you re-flash it back to stock.

Also, what is an "ok" kcon to keep running at? From what I understand so far, 0.49 seems to be the best, but is there an upper limit? I live in Texas and have good 93 octane all around here, so that shouldn't be a problem, but that is one thing that I'll definitely be keeping an eye on.

And lastly, when flashing for the first time, I can just use my desktop to load and save the tune on the KTuner, and then just flash with the KTuner alone, right? Or do I need a laptop hooked up to it at the same time?

Driving style: Most of the time I'd drive like a grandma but on some occasions I would do some lively driving.

Tuning experience notes: I commute basically 90+ miles for 4 days of the week and everything has been doing well. Might remove my dp because I feel that it might be a little too loud but love the burbles. I started to have this CVT whine when using my paddle shifters but i changed my CVT Fluid at 30k miles and it removed that whine. Also when I did change my fluid, only a little bit of metal shavings were on the bolt but that is to be expected from a CVT. All in all its still a blast when driving the car.
how do you change the fluid? this is my first car and didnā€™t know that was a thing since the dealer never told me about it, i thought i was going crazy hearing that noise, thank you

Driving style: Aggressive bursts here and there but mostly granny.

Tuning experience notes: map 2 differentiates between sport (20 psi) and other modes (18 psi). It appears that sport engine mode in individual mode doesnā€™t count as sport mode. I usually run in individual mode. I put it in pure sport mode and wow, that extra 2 psi make a difference. The car was on the edge of traction even pure stock. Now it has more power than traction. No complaints, provided a noticeable boost in performance with no downsides. I have not tried map 3.

Tunes used: Hondata race tune, Ososik custom tune.

Fuel used: 91 octane.

Additional related mods: PRL SRI, PRL Ti Inlet pipe, RV6 turbo, PRL charge pipes, PRL intercooler, Two-Step downpipe, PRL front pipe, Vibrant performance resonator, Magnaflow exhaust. Koyo radiator. RS-R lowering springs, RV6 rear sway bar, RV6 toe adjustment bars, SPC camber kit. Action Clutch Stage 2 Kevlar clutch with Chromoly flywheel, Hybrid racing short shifter assembly, Skunk2 weighted shift knob.

Problems/issues: Head gasket failure - New head gasket and Two-Step/ARP Ti head studs installed. Excessive oil flow to RV6 turbo - RV6 performance warrantied turbo and installed oil reducer.

Driving style: Commuter with periodic bursts.

Tuning experience notes: Based parts selection based on best bang for the buck. Had PRL HVI, but part no longer fit due to thicker radiator. For flash tune, discussed with Nick Ososik and modified Hondata tune for reliability (limited torque to 232 ft-lbs on Mustang Dyno, increased top end to 23 PSI max. Limitation to power with current build is fuel flow, 91 octane, and inlet air temperatures.

Shout out to Nick Ososik from Ososik Media, Rich Wong from RV6 Performance, and Two-Step Performance.

I wonder if anyone's hit 100k in one of the 23 manual transmissions..

I'm at 17500 bone stock.. I hope it can make it to 300K. That's my goal.

Driving style: Mostly granny but every once in a while I'll throw it in sport w/ paddle shifters. I only stay in map 1, I tried the other 2 maps when I first tuned but haven't used them since just to be safe.

Tuning experience notes: super easy to get set up with the instructions that Phearable sent via email. Even on the cvt, it completely changes how the car drives and I love it. It blows my mind that I can go from a snappy responsive sport feel with excellent simulated gears to a gas milage god with (almost) autopilot in a matter of seconds. You definitely gotta be nice to it off the line but once the turbo kicks in, you're flying. 10/10 would tune again

Would you say that driving in sport is even better than from factory now? Stock, Iā€™ve noticed that sometimes there is a delay in ā€˜upshiftingā€™ using the paddles. What are the most glaring differences youā€™ve noticed with the tune during more spirited driving? I have the cvt as well and Iā€™m also looking to tune in due time. Interested to hear just how much better it feels daily!

I didnā€™t test the paddles much In stock but I can tell you that everything feels responsive like it listens to what you want and just does it. I can get some videos if youā€™d like. To put it bluntly, once you switch to the Phearable 1.5R you realize how held back the car is by the stock tune. Sure the CVT isn't the most exciting transmission but tuned on the 1.5R it's just a different animal. Better throttle and turbo response, less lag, more power and it's more refined and smooth compared to factory.

I totally get that, I couldnā€™t help myself and just bit the bullet. From what Iā€™ve heard on the civic reliability with this tune, as long as youā€™re not punching it off the line, youā€™re good. I throw in some maintenance at 30k for trans fluid and make sure to warm up/cool off the car after every drive. Especially after pushing it. Stick to 93 as much as you can because itā€™s a turbo engine. Follow these rules and the car should last a lot longer than average

As far as shifting goes, coming from a manual, itā€™s solid. You can feel the gear changes and itā€™s responsive. It doesnā€™t gear hunt or anything. My only concern, which is probably invalid, is that it likes to hold first gear until about 2.5k-3k rpm before shifting. So if Iā€™m ever in a parking lot, Iā€™ll hold the + paddle to bring it back to automatic so Iā€™m not revving in first everywhere lol

The throttle response is such a huge difference. No latency whatsoever. I feel like I have total control of the car now

Both of these are awesome adds! The throttle response being a big one for me. I donā€™t punch it but could see myself really enjoying direct feel through the gas pedal while accelerating from a crawl or a stop. Iā€™ve noticed when using the paddles stock that itā€™ll rev really high in S1 (first ā€˜gearā€™) and wonā€™t auto up shift until the car is already way loud and needs to be shifted already lol I havenā€™t been able to find film of anyone with paddles and a tune on this car or even an 11th gen civic with paddles either. I find them fun in stock form but the way you describe, it becomes even more engaging. Sick!!
