Wait, the ITS insurance quote was higher than (roughly the same as) the M3? That's a 50% increase (at bare minimum, I think) in MSRP, not to mention BMW vs. Acura...
That's true, but even so, I get the feeling that here straight up dealer markups and mandatory accessories is more an exception rather than the norm. You walk into a dealership expecting MSRP, and are (rarely, I should think) surprised by an addon, rather than walking in expecting an ADM and...
Not only no markups, but it wasn't even a discussion. It wasn't like "here's $2000 of accessories, and I have to talk them out of it, or give me a discount", but straight up quoted on the paperwork as MSRP + PDI. The only negotiating I had to do was with rates, as I may upgrade to a different...
Yeah that's per month. It's roughly $172 USD per month, or $2064/year. Granted, that's with a 11 year driving history, but only 3 of which I was a primary driver on any insurance (I used to travel a lot for work and barely drove at all).
It's funny that you mention that, because I was just saying the other day that the Integra brakes are remarkably clean. Of course, I'm comparing against a Navigator, BMW, and a Land Rover, all of which spew endless amounts of grease onto every surface remotely near the wheel well...
To be fair...
Just got quoted from CAA (via Scoop) for an ITS without a VIN (they are having trouble looking up any ITS VINs), and it was only a $40 increase on my existing policy ($190+40=$230 per month). I was told with a VIN # they could get a more exact (in this case, lower) quote, so I'm quite happy with...
Yeah that's crazy. I'm insuring all my vehicles for way less than that a month, and one of the drivers is a new driver too. Sonnet inhaling too much smoke, I see.
Unfortunately, nuclear is exactly that cheap and efficient power source you mention, but of course that opens a whole other political can of worms (or is it can of political worms?). I just got my PPL last year and I can say I'm 100% confident I won't be flying in a BEV plane anywhere in the...
That being said, there absolutely should be incentives to convert to EV for places where most of the power is hydroelectric or nuclear. Specifically thinking of Quebec, where 94% of power comes from hydro.
"But it gets too cold for BEVs!" you might think. "Rural areas don't have charging...
While I agree in voicing our concerns to the manufacturer, I'm skeptical in this case that any change will materialize. As was mentioned elsewhere, this is something that plagues nearly every single production model in Acura's lineup, and I'm 100% sure they are already aware of it (not to...
True, but that assumes time, tools, and facilities are in place. If you manage to find non-inflated accessories and you value your time enough (or don't have the facilities/tools), it can be a good option. I'm not sure if this is just the dealerships I've been dealing with, but I've managed to...
Well my point there was that they aren't overstating it's capabilities. They aren't saying: "Here's a 52k car that is really worth more". In fact in most of the more popular reviews it's clear that they're quite happy with the MSRP (or were hoping for something slightly lower).
It sounds like...
I think this is definitely more of an issue with the dealers than the reviewers. I've seen just about every review and they all bring up that the ITS is a bit higher in price at MSRP than initially expected, but generally close to being worth the price. The fact that the dealers can hear this...
Was that on the front bumper? Front bumper fitment issues have been attributed to dealers having to remove them to install addons, and so they vary by dealership (some are really good about getting them back on properly).
Well they are working in 50 (?) car batches right? I suppose they did White and Blue for the demos in the first two batches (sub 100) and then started working on other colours (like TEP, LCM, Black, ABP) and then switched back to white/blue?
Ontario here as well, front plate requirement makes no sense, having lived a few years in Quebec.
Anyways, I'm not too worried about blocking that little bit with a license, seeing as how I doubt the engineers overlooked the front license mounting requirements in some places.
Regardless though...
The very week I stop using brake hold (since some of my other vehicles don't have it and I found muscle memory caused me to let go of the brake at stop lights...).
When it says iN VIN status, is there a specific VIN range that is affected?
Obvs ITS having higher NVH is a known thing, but dang 407 road noise is bad in any car. I gotta crank the audio up in any vehicle as soon as I get past the cameras.
