    To clarify I had broken half the plastic off length wise before marking the hi/low spots with the sharpie.

    It was fairly easy to remove the plastic by first starting cuts all around with a fresh blade and then crack pieces off with pliers. Too bad the underlying holes in the metal don't correspond with high/low marks but I marked them with a sharpie and then scored them with the blade. I also...

    A friend mentioned a torch but upon further thought we both felt that may leave the metal shaft with a burnt film that might make it hard to read.

    I picked up an OEM dipstick today and plan to remove the tips orange plastic cover. Any good suggestions on removal that won't damage the metal shaft?

    93 tune? My oem clutch had about 35k miles on it before the tune. Mostly hwy miles though. Maybe you'll continue to luck out and not have an issue.

    What tune are you referring to? Mine slipped with Map 2 of the Phearable tune. I believe Map 1 is similar to stock power levels but with a more linear torque curve.

    Sure, I could not floor it in 5th gear and keep the tune on level one and the stock clutch disc probably would have soldered on for yrs but I wanted to be able to enjoy every bit of the tune so I ponied up for an upgrade. Clutch disc's are cheap! Labor, not so much! 😟
