  1. Acuity reverse flow hoses installed, transmission fluid changed.

Coolant normally flows top down in the radiator. If you have a large aftermarket intercooler blocking your radiator, then your coolant won't reach the proper cooled temp because of that blockage. By reversing the coolant hoses so the the coolant flows bottom up, the coolant is mildly cooled at...
  2. Honda Prelude CAUGHT Testing in Germany

Good take on this, I never considered this, but with Honda move to hybrid and EV, there's no room for Si in the future. This will get the Civic Hybrid motor and probably all the sporty suspension bits and maybe the LSD once the Si is canceled.
  3. Down to what temp have you safely used the OEM ITS tires?

40-50 degrees is the usual recommended switchover point to winters. I owned a FRS and put Michelin Super Sports on it. Because of work scheduling and weather surprises in Michigan one winter, I drove them in freezing conditions (25-28 degrees F) for a few days, but only in the dry. I was very...
  4. Midwest... With a family - tires!

Crossclimate2's were the best all-season / all-weather tires for the past 2-3 years. However, competitors have responded and it's been surpassed or at least matched by new products. Look into Continental offerings on Tire Rack.
  5. Break-in oil?

Relevant thread on CivicXi: https://www.civicxi.com/forum/threads/asked-a-honda-engineer-about-the-factory-fill-and-whether-there-was-any-benefit-to-keeping-it-in-longer.54128/ Summary: 1) Honda engineers have debates among themselves whether it is necessary to change oil at 1,000 miles or...
  6. Jester’s Tuning thread

Yeah I second this, Bisquick's idea is great. You could include the FK8 and 1.5T recommendation lists, that would be awesome, too! That would be a stickied thread for the ages.
  7. Jester’s Tuning thread

Last question, Jester. Appreciate the help. Is this mod path for both the 2.0T and the 1.5T? If not, what is your recommended mod path for the 1.5T Si/Integra A-Spec?
  8. Jester’s Tuning thread

    1) Opinions on whether an aftermarket intercooler is a worth it for spirited street use with occasional pulls? 2) Is a tune necessary to take advantage of an aftermarket intercooler? I'm wondering about the intercooler because Hondata said that they cause turbo lag and that the Honda racing...
  9. June Giveaway

What wheels are those? They look like Kojins.
  10. Historical Honda/Acura pricing vs loaf of bread (for those statistical nerds)

Nice post! I did this with my ex's hand-me-down 2000 Accord V6. The price of that car new was almost exactly in line with a 2018 Accord 2.0T using the BLS inflation calculator. Car manufacturers have done an amazing job keeping the prices of cars in line with inflation while continually adding...
  11. New '24 Aspec 6MT

Any immediate differences between the Integra and Si since your acquisition? Is road noise less noticeable?
  12. Painted wheels

Nice wheels, what tire size are you running?
  13. Michelin CrossClimate 2 tires

I have them on my Scion beater and feel they were worth the money. They work well as all-seasons and "snow" tires. Maybe only 1 level below actual snow tires. Very confidence inspiring in the cold and snow, but missing that final bit of performance and grip on icy surfaces that snow tires...
  14. Another Apex Blue ITS in Michigan

Good info on the Fox Acura being an MSRP + no add ons dealership. Can you recommend a specific salesperson who made the process easy?
  15. TuxMats?

I've used Weathertechs for the past 10 years, but am now considering upgrading to the TPE material available with Tuxmats and Weathertech HP. I like the better coverage with Tuxmats, but my only question is: how easy is it to clean the new TPE material from dirt and salt? The older weathertech...
  16. Buying 23 Integra Manual

Downpipe looks stock, everything but the intake / MAF looks stock as far as I can tell. I'd start by asking for a discount for non-stock intake system and the additional risk involved with "a clear indication of use of aftermarket parts" . Then I'd ask the dealership to run ECU diagnostics to...
  17. Sound-deadened the ITS a bit

A+ response, my friend! Thank you for sharing your research and resources.
  18. Sound-deadened the ITS a bit

Hmm, $1,700 is a bit steep. I was thinking about doing this myself to save money. Is there a ready to go kit or did your shop cut out custom shapes from the sound-deadening material? Is that speaker ring worth it? Does it prevent rattles when the sound system is booming?
  19. Bolt-ons (No Tune) Dyno Tested..

Agreed, koatic, this is an idea: once your car has all bolt-ons and tuned up, ask the dyno shop for a quick dyno run for free or for a discount measuring how much of a difference Sport and Sport + modes make. If it's too expensive, well then don't worry about it.
  20. Bolt-ons (No Tune) Dyno Tested..

Wow, nice gains on intake side alone. Thank you for trying to be as objective as possible, stating temp for each dyno, keeping ECU stock, even keeping the sport mode mix up for the 2nd dyno. Looking forward to your exhaust-side update video.
