Me too.
They'll either sell a few or none of them at 3x the cost of a type r, or they'll sell a few hundred at a massive loss each.
Outside of doing it to appease the regime, I just don't get why they'd bother 🤷♂️.
LOL!
Dude if I owned a vette (again) I'd be compelled to keep it in the garage and only pull it out when it's dark and no one can see I own it 🤣. Like you with your skyline! C8s are fast, but I hate driving them. Brakes and steering lack so much feel, and even the butt feel is poor despite the...
There will not be a Manual c8. They designed the trans and packaging around the electronics, so I doubt they'd go that path unless they're really willing to make a lot of compromises. I believe Chevy also killed that rumor after some "photos".
I will defend the oil analysis... It does show...
Why didn't Honda just turn the turbo? There has to be some reason they decided to go with this convoluted packaging.
The tc series cars have the intake going shorty to the front, I believe in either the upper grill pocket or the headlight. For a true racecar, going to the headlight is a great...
I'm curious with what they come up with!
The two things that I'd love to see:
Insulation from the turbo
Keeps stock filter design but makes it a quicker swap
Don't forget the inner flap. I've had that one get stuck when filling up with a vp type can. Actually had the nozzle stuck in there... They throw evap codes.
These evap codes are actually not uncommon in capless systems. The little spring mechanism doesn't always seal 100%. We just notice more...
The only issue with the factory design is the dumb intake over turbo design. That could have been solved...
You just sit collecting heat, which makes things very lethargic. No aftermarket intake really fully addresses that. The prl titanium comes close, but still has a lot of cast aluminum...
Wanting more sound is totally reasonable. I'd still like to make time to replace all the noise canceling parts of the stock intake for just plain Jane ti pipe and silicone. Just have to find what I can give up to make time for that 🤔😑
Unpopular fact:
Oem intake and filters are more than good enough for the flow the oem turbo allows for, even tuned. Your primary limitation on induction flow is the turbo and impeller itself. Everything north of that is larger than the hole on the turbo so basic fluid dynamics will tell you...
Just a note, bmw and merc used fiber heavily for years to limit em interference, but they abandoned it due to fragility. My cousin was a BMW engineer at one point and said he frequently saw people doing custom audio on Bmw's back then that would wreak havoc on the system when they'd bend or...
Lol, it all depends on method and your tolerance for time on it! I do agree a good bleed takes less fluid and time compared to a heavy flush. I rarely have to do huge flushes.
I use a metal syringe from target to suck the fluid out of Mc and top off with fresh fluid. Pressure up, and bleed...
Similar setup here. I went and bought some extra hose at home depot and a couple swivel barb attachments to make life a tiny bit easier.
I do quick bleeds before every track event and I've used this same motive bottle for almost 9 years now, across many vehicles. Still works great and still...
How do the sills compare to the door projectors in daylight and evening?
I've wanted to add the door sills, but they seem way off in color (skewed blue) compared to the projectors (which aren't really very crisp). I'm worried at night they'd just be a bright blinding white and overshadow the...
This is just fun now... I had it add what happens when you drop an inch 😅
The Honda version does survive a drop better than a standard mcstrut!! That is quite an admirable feat given then context of how it's packaged.
Also, I had Claude draw a camber curve for each to illustrate. 0mm on x axis is where we start. Going 20mm right (compressing) you can see we gain and then start to lose negative. This is also precisely why lowering the car increases some neg camber, but loading up makes it feel more understeery...
That's correct that the dual axis design does gain some negative camber under compression, to a point. There's a range where it starts to gain positive again. That range is higher up than a traditional mcstrut.
Your camber should be based on the tire your run and your wear. If tire a grips at...
Our bad! Brofest on!
Side note, had another gas station incident where another guy was hitting on my car... Do they just prowl around the only pump serving 93 around here for fun...? 🤣
The way the pops came is probably more borla, but the fire is all oem crackle tune stuff. Maybe the tune is keeping it slightly richer, but once things get properly heat soaked (my exhaust connection at the catback connection is dark blue-purple from heat) the combustions can get pretty raucous.
It's a doable approach. You have to use a lot of rear bar to reduce the grip across the rear axle and bring balance back in line but it's a doable concept for fwd.
It's just not typical because it stiffens up the car a lot and the focus is on turn in speed rather than track out throttle...
