Different one. Muuuuch nicer than the one I typically rent for private days:
It's now one of the best tracks in the country. No such thing as a "straight" other than "roller coaster" where you go airborne.
It's the nature of progressive (or dual rate single piece) springs. The silencer is crucial to keep the binding noise down. I would just look out for rust from the contact areas that wear away.
You could always try a different sleeve type to see if it helps, but sucks to disassemble just to...
Like I said, I've been very lucky! I only met Ross because he came to my region to instruct with NASA a few times. That's how I've met a lot of cool characters, and it always seems to work out being nice to everyone, regardless of their social status or walk of life.
With a lot of variation...
What was your previous rwd car?
I've been lucky enough between friends, students, and seat opportunities to drive a lot of cars. Honestly, the drive type rarely matters. The only exception is awd... I've only driven two awd cars that weren't understeer prone, but in general I find rwd>fwd>awd...
Here's the alignment sheet (starting measure is after strut pins were pulled) :
The biggest difference between intermediate/advanced and expert (typically de2, de3, and de4) is a mastery of smoothness on the brakes. If you haven't yet, I highly recommend learning to read a speedchart and...
Just following up here.
Thank you so much for sending the connector over!! I finally got it installed today, super easy with the pins not totally destroyed. It's all back together and working well now!
I also replaced the vapor barrier with a new one and added butyl aluminum material inside...
I drove the gts with the 7spd on track. I hated the dead pedal position and pedal spacing. Shifter feel was fine, but nothing insanely amazing. Clutch feel was way better than the its. Going into turns it took a tremendous amount of brake pressure to force rotation and get a wheel to lift, but...
I won't argue the camaro is capable. I'm just arguing the window is too small to extract a human in the event of an accident. I'm not sure I'd be able to get out of it on my trailer.
Interesting! Mine is on the passenger side. Drives me mad until the fan turns down. Sometimes I can flip through airflow direction settings or turn the fan up and down manually for it to stop. Sometimes not. I can't figure out what's causing it though.
I didn't think about it until after it was together, but that's also the direction I planned to go. Maybe bunch it in two areas along the sides near the stitching to make it less obvious.
I do like the collar though! It fits in well with the knob and I like the smallness of it. Silly stupid to...
... But in seriousness it's a combo of the above, plus design and stiffness.
Rear wheel wells are inside the cabin, most of the sheet metal is very thin and echoes, and there are a lot of vibrations that are transmitted into the cabin.
Check for my "back on track" thread. I'm doing sound...
You're definitely correct regarding centerline. Wider wheel, centerline moves from inside face by half the width increase if the offset face is maintained.
However, there's also camber to account for. With some negative camber you'll distribute more weight on the inside of the tire. Wider...
Yeah, there are certainly unavoidable things. As a daily, some damage will always occur.
Automated washes are definitely the fastest way to cause swirls and deep gouges, though. I have one car that has almost 80k mi on it and is a 2017. It has zero swirls. There are a few scratches here and...
I will add that the acuity collar is the wrong diameter for the factory boot. It's too narrow which leads to some pinching of the boot. They should have made it a 1/4" wider, but c'est la vie!
The ti acuity collar lowered the knob by a bit so that the taller knob is sitting near factory ti knob height now. I no longer think the throws need to be shorter. Throws are perfect now. I do wish the gates were a bit wider from factory, but eh what can you do, 🤷♂️. Feels great and I much...
