For anyone interested I found a good aftermarket trunk struts. This one is 445N/100lbs. I ended up pairing one factory and one aftermarket because the aftermarket "bumped" at the top of it's range and the factory one is a hair shorter so it stops the travel before it reaches the end. Trunk opens...
I have an OEM one with less than 200 miles on it. I replaced it proactive. Lemme know if you are interested - it's on eBay right now but will sell for cheaper here :)

I feel it in the accelerator pedal as well. Another opinion I've seen is just a harmonic kind of vibration since it's always between 3/4K RPMs. I can get behind this explanation a bit more than EWG. But I still want it GONE! LOL
But that's my entire point...it's not the owners that slam it trunk, it everyone else! I pick up my friend for golf and he puts his bag in the trunk and slams the hatch. He's not reading the manual right??
I just replaced the DE5 trunk struts with the FL5 ones and they are probably too strong. I'm a fairly big guy 6'2" 250 and I need two hands to pull it down and then have to push it closed. The good news is it opens on its own - and fast!
I might need to find an after market strut that is between...

I've turned it off and switched to a magnetic charging cable for my Pixel. Connects pretty quickly without having to fiddle with it. Going to give it a few more weeks and then probably route the cable permanently.
