Hmm. So maybe I shouldn’t install the Radium can that’s been collecting dust for like 6 months. 😆 I’ve been using Amsoil and will use Mobil 1 and Pennzoil as well. I think it was the latter that had a great evap rating.
I deliberated on the matter for quite a bit and while on some platforms the catch can is a must, I concluded that given the feedback where people say Honda is above average for minimal carbon build up, combined with my driving style and supplemented with a cleaner at least once a year, the build up IN MY NON EXPERT OPINION should not be enough to warrant messing with how it came from the factory.

I trust Derek is an expert and just saw this earlier, so I’ll just keep on doing what we’re talking about & try selling mine. I appreciate the tip about evaporation!

Do the catch can manufacturers state whether their can systems create additional crank case pressure? I would not install one unless they do state this information and show the test data that supports it. Increased crank case pressure can potentially cause all kinds of problems that are shorter term and worse than any carbon buildup that might occur long term in the intake.
