Center Console Removal (Piano Black Section)

I am going to modify the piano black center console piece, but don't know how to remove it. Is there documentation somewhere that outlines that? I assume it would be in one of those giant auto repair books.

I’ve been wondering what people think about polishing scratches on it. It looks like paint with a clear coat. Wouldn’t small scratches buff out just like on the exterior paint?
