I had asked at the dealership about the same thing and they all said, don't change the oil until the car tells you. That's all I needed to know.

first oil change I can agreed however, after that I will change oil every $5k no matter what

I think my car’s oil is over serviced from the factory, with only 40 miles on the odometer.

engines typically have full oil before startup. Try turning it on and let the oil cycle and completely fill up the filter then turn it off and check the oil level again on flat ground.

on the other hand technicians tend to fill oilin bulk from a barrel instead of bottled with exact quarts amounts. A little is okay but if it’s overfilled check the dipstick again to see is there is any foaming
