Installed Fitcamx this morning

Loving this thing so far. In and out in about 20 min. No parts broken. Comes with everything except the screw driver. You get the pry tool and the sd card reader (for USB C and A) in the box.

it’s a good camera. But…. If you’re viewing the camera from the app, always make sure it’s recording still before closing app. So many times I’ve went to see some footage and it was never recording

Weird. I don't use the app beyond the initial setup. Downloading takes forever. I just pull the card if need be. My videos are all there for my work commute for the past week.

Yeah I really like how clean the Fitcamx is. I put in the Front+Rear with the polarizing lens and the fuse box hardwire. Only negatives for me is I can't read license plates when they're more than 2 car lengths away from the camera, front or rear, and the gyroscope is hard to trigger for a collision recording (shook the hell out of my ITS before it turned on) even after adjusting the sensitivity on the app.

Yeah you have to get mad close to them to get a clear shot. Had someone throw a can at my car, leaving a good dent . Only a split second of footage got me a good shot of license plate.

I should have monitored the app more closely. Since the lights were on, I assumed it was still recording, but my FitCamX actually stopped recording a few weeks ago. I just reconnected it and got it working again. I'll reach out to FitCam to see if they have any solutions to prevent the recording from shutting off.

Very weird. I still have not experienced this behavior. Out of curiosity, I pulled my card this morning and plugged into my computer and it is still recording. Now I'm paranoid. Outside of setup, I have only used the app twice to download videos.

its good to randomly press record once every few weeks to check if the camera and app is working. I usually pull my videos at the end of the day after parking in my garage.

Did you have issues with Battery drain? I had to get the hardwire kit because it never shut off.

Glad to know that not all of us have issues, hopefully that means I'll get a properly working unit eventually.

After talking to support, they asked me what firmware I'm on and mines on 3/5/2024 so I'm guessing they're going to ask me to do a firmware update. Hopefully that'll do the trick.

Yeah that's probably for the best, I think I'm going to make pulling the SD Card and downloading the files a monthly task to make sure it's still recording.

No problems with battery drain for me or anything that would indicate it anyways.

I drive the ITS once a week and its never had a slow start and the CCA is testing at 516.

you can pull videos through the app. no reason to keep on taking the sd card in and out. the camera itself is kinda flimsy.
