I'll be the bad guy. I'm not happy with the seats on the ITS. They aren't supportive and they aren't comfortable. Do I still like the car? Of course, nothing is perfect. I'm just disappointed cus Honda makes some of the best seats in the market. Had an FK8 loved the seats. While waiting to do the paper work on my ITS I sat in the TLX Type S in the show room. Those seats felt really nice more cushioning n more side bolstering than on the Integra.

I disagree, after owning the car for a few weeks now and taken it on a couple longer drives, they're some of the most comfortable seats I've ever experienced. I don't have an issue with the support either, at least not for street driving.

Seats are subjective, but I'm quite happy with the ones in the ITS.

My 1 month of ownership will be on the 20th.

I love the car, a few tiny niggles.

- homelink, the three ounces it weighs isn't that much.

--wish it would have a more cable throttle "feel", like my s2k, that 2-3, 3-4 rev flare, whether rev match is on or not is annoying.

- fuel tank is kind of small, and it calculates range pessimistically, 30 miles to go and it still has almost 3 gallons left.

Observations:

- I absolutely love the color. Put the second coat of ceramic on it and it looks great.
Acura Integra Review of 5 things to improve Type S 20231015_114343-1

- the a/c absolutely freezes me, nice. and the seat heaters get hot very fast.

- gearing is fine, my former ride, a '17 6mt v6 accord coupe ran more revs than this does at 80. It's nowhere near as short as my S2k, where almost 5 grand is 80.

- fuel mileage has been relatively consistent at around 27.9, mix of local and highway, now I'm starting to get on it more as the miles accumulate.

- The seats are good, just with the bottoms were a bit wider, or, I should really lose some poundage to fit in them better.

I think this is pretty unique from person to person. I bought a FK8 and drove it back 2000 miles or so and hated the seats. My back was killing me from the drive. I ended up selling the car after a month mainly due to the seats.

Awhile back I test drove the integra aspec which I was excited about and the TLX. My acura rdx 2011 had quite comfortable leather seats. I found the integra seats for one feel like cheap crap being vinyl and the seat bottom was so flat and not cushioned. My wife right away said the seats were not comfortable. At first I think I was to amazed at the car to critically think about it and but after sitting in the tlx I was like yeah for 50k CAD aspec integra the seats were pretty trash. The TLX seats feel very premium with the leather and actually quite comfortable. I do really want a integra type s but the seats are a big miss.

For me it’s little things and manly tech.
Tech is cheap/already existing in other models.
Frankly is kind of annoying that the top model of the car doesn’t have features the lower trips do.
The weight of putting cameras around isn’t enough to make a difference.
A data recorder/camera for track would be cool.
It would be interesting to see if the put CTR black seats in too

The material makes a huge difference. I can't stand the fake leather Aspec seats either... they remind me of the (non-M) BMW 2 series seats but actually way worse. In the ITS at least the microsuede offers great grip. They're still not as good as the TLX seats but that car weighs like 800 lbs more and the seats still aren't that great.

I won't disagree that the seats are a miss, but I wouldn't disregard the Type S because of them alone- ESPECIALLY if your only basis of comparison is the Aspec seats. I've had the car for a year and a half now, and still think the seats are adequate... but recognize they could have done better.

The seats haven’t bothered be one bit and I’ve done a few long trips with my ITS. One was 6 hours one way and the others have been 10 hours one way. I would not mind a taller 6th gear but that’s a minor issue in the grand scheme of things. Even at 80 this car will get 28 mph. That’s perfectly fine.

Yeah, I think the seats are fine. Would I have preferred "re-skinned" FL5 seats + seat heaters or something? Absolutely. Could they have done better? Yep. Do the seats bother me in any way / do I find myself thinking about them before / during / after driving? Never.

I get that seating is highly subjective and experience will vary based on age, body, ailments, etc., but I'm surprised this seems to be as hot a topic as it is.

I have not had the chance to sit inside a integra type s I was under the impression the seats were pretty similar to the aspec.

I would still buy a type s but it would 100% make me not buy an aspec. the type s has more to it and way more special but wish they hadn't saved cost with the seats. They look great just need leather and some more foam or whatever. I loved the look it was just the support and feel of them.

I am not old either so if I am complaining that tells me they are not ideal.. I currently drive my wifes 2010 honda fit and those seats are quite firm but they don't bug me. I think it was mostly the seat bottom bottomed out and wasn't supportive / enough foam.

I came close to buying a TLX type s but between it feeling so heavy and like a long boat with no backseat leg room didn't feel like a good fit. Loved the looks and power and AWD, put my money into a different house so timing hasn't been quite right to get an integra but hoping and dreaming haha.

It seems like perfect vehicle all around vehicle. Just hope they keep making them for a few years, strangely on the canadian website they don't talk about it at all and you can't build one

Had one dealership tell me they are not making anymore and another say they are taking orders but wont get any for awhile.

I have an aspec and its a great daily driver. 42 mpg, nicer looking seats, sunroof. Keep on driving your wifes fit and save the money.

I think part of the problem is many cars really do have fantastic seats- and it's not necessarily a new thing. The ITS seats just feel like an afterthought compared to stuff like this:

Speaking of better seats in lower cost cars, how about the current WRX tR/tS:

Or Miata Club:

These are both Recaro-branded OEM seats, not true Recaros, but it at least shows the automakers are making an effort to put a proper sport seat in the cars.
