Hi all

I have a platinum white ITS and it looks like rust is forming under the rear back glass. Let me know your thoughts? Anybody experiencing this? See pics. Picked my ITS up on June 14th so I had it for a little while now.

Oh no! I'd send the pics to the dealer & just tackle it now under warranty. Or at least see what they say about how they'd address it 😬 I'd almost rather have a new one then fix it.

Ok. I will contact the dealer and will follow up on this post as soon as I have more info. Since these cars are so new, it might be a wider issue for many of these. Could likely see a recall because I doubt mine is a one off.

They'd have to have a TON of them to roll out a recall for anything short of a safety issue, but I agree with taking it into the dealership for a fix--I've noticed tree debris really finds its way into the channels around the front and back windows. It's like they attract this stuff magnetically.

Is the paint bubbled? This sort of looks like rail dust. Considering the spolier requires drilling to install, its possible that a metal flake got embedded in the paint and started to rust. A product like Iron-X would take care of that quickly.

Very good points you made! I did have the spoiler installed last week. I will clean the rust out with a Q-tip and will see what happens. I dont think the paint is bubbled but will check to see if the rust is embedded. I agree with you RUNNIN, from your post - I have had some tree debris stuck in the channels.

I'd do a product like IronX on most of the Car. I had spots like that showing up on my plastic bumper a year after I bought my Sonic. Sprayed IronX on the car and hundreds of purple spots showed up (indicating where it is working). Let that sit for 5 minutes and rinse off. I'd bet your car brand new has more iron embedded than you can see and they'll eventually show on a white car. But its coming from a factory and transported on train/truck etc. Those products smell terrible though, so be warned.
