Most metals recycling places will take exhausts. You won't get a lot of cash but some, better than trashing it, IMO, especially if you'd have to pay to throw it out.
Also, most metals recycling places will pay for catalytic converters, usually pretty good money for them. Most places you'll need to prove you replaced it by showing a receipt for another one you bought. As in if you bought a high-flow aftermarket unit.
