Like many of you, I’m anxiously awaiting the release of the ITS. My wife and I have already test driven the Integra with manual transmission and loved it. If there were no ITS coming, we would already have an Integra in the garage.

One thing we will use this car for is traveling with our dogs. This will be short trips to the beach as well as long cross country trips. We have two larger dogs; a 70 lb Sheepadoodle and a 50 lb Goldendoodle. They don’t shed, so I don’t worry about dog hair on the seats.

I’m curious if anyone has experience traveling long distances with their larger dogs. If yes, did you have them just on the seats? Or did you fold the seats down?

In other cars, I’ve seen people build a flat bench that fits over the seats to give the dogs more room without folding the seats down. This is something I’ll explore so we still have good luggage storage in the hatch. Has anyone done something like this?

For any option, we will harness the dogs in. They both do well wearing their harnesses as they ride in the back of our Mini Cooper.

I’d like to see and read about other people’s solutions for traveling with their dogs.

I have a 150lbs Pyrador, only travel total 40 miles (20mi to/from) when we take him to 'school' We have the the rear pet cabin liner (part: 08Z41-3S5-210) that cover protects the seats and the door panels. the panel covers don't hold very well, and if you roll up the window they can pop off.

For him, folding the seats down make it difficult for him to get up in the back. so on the seats he goes, doubt your dogs will have that issue. he wears a harness that connects to the safety latches in the seats. There's "enough" room for him to turn around and when he lays down he takes up the entire rear seat.

He's rather comfortable in the car, and a sight to see when he sticks his head out the window. He likes it cool and the center air vents do put out some good, cool wind to reach the back

Being directly on the sear without the cover, it's rather slippery and he has difficulty maintaining a grip if he's sitting up or trying to relocate, the cover helps a lot with that

Thanks for the information. I noticed the pet cabin liner on Acura’s website the other day. I’ll have to consider that too. I’m still thinking of building a flat bench that extends up to the front seat backs. I’ve seen some good ideas on the Jeep and Tacoma forums. We’re doing 8 - 10 hour drives (with frequent stops) so I want them as comfortable as possible.

Traveling with dogs can be a challenge, but finding a reliable and trustworthy contractor for your home remodeling project doesn't have to be. I recently used the complete remodeling services of a Texas-based company called Better Roofing and Remodeling and I couldn't be happier with the results. Their team of experts handled every aspect of the remodeling project with professionalism and attention to detail, from the initial consultation to the final walkthrough.
Wow, I really didn't expect bots to show up in this forum, of all places.
