$52K definitely opens the door for additional options. I'm probably still going to move forward as $52K was my 'high' estimate on MSRP ($48K makes way way more sense). Assuming I move forward, I'm only taking my preferred color combination. But, I have to admit, at this price, it once again opens the possibility that I'll take my GR Corolla 'Circuit Edition' reservation (if I feel I can deal with the interior) or.....even a A-Spec Tech 6MT (if I can get comfortable with the 1.5T). We'll see. It looks like I'll have some time to decide before White/Black becomes available.

I hope this is the case but from a business stand point. They will have car sitting in dealer lots once the initial rush wears off. I'm not sure how many dealers are willing to buy the car from acura and wait for acura so give out incentives for consumers to start buying the car. The dealer will have a lot of capital sitting in the lot and not recouping their investment. I still find it hard to understand their thinking. Someone in marketing got the pricing horribly wrong for the product they are producing. The car isn't worth $7k more than the car msrp.

I was looking to buy one of these but I will wait until acura demand is gone and they want customers to buy the car.
I guess for what it's worth 52k today is 42k by 2017 numbers, so had this car come out alongside the FK8 it would have been a $5000 premium over the FK8. I think the CPI argument is nil though because plenty of cars have not raised their prices that significantly post-pandemic. We even have cars like the Model 3 and Mach E that have gotten cheaper.

I heard the same color combos will be available at launch from my WA dealer too. I was hoping for white/red but I’ll have to let this and the MSRP news sit and see what I want to do. From the list, LCM/red is the only one I’d consider.

On a related note, check out the pricing press releases- Civic MSRP went up $300 this week and TLX up $200. Not even 2024MY.

Si- $29895
ST Hatch- $32345
CTR- $44890
24 Integra MT- $37695
TLX AWD- $50195
ITS- $51995
TLX-S- $56945
Dammit, you're right. Everything went up $300.

A couple of other options I didn't see mentioned
Besides a Golf, you can get a Jetta GLI with a six speed. I think it's a really nice package, but basically a Golf with a trunk.
The Mazda 3 is available with MT6, but not with the 2.5 turbo.
Kia Forte GT is available with MT6

Only the Mazda comes close to the premium level of Acura, and none of them are as powerful. But if all you want is 4-doors and a manual, there are reasonable priced options.

I would not be ashamed to drive any of the above cars, and would feel confident in traffic with the manual.

Need 4 doors and same or more rear room as the Integra.

Well then the Mazda is out.

I think the GLI is pretty roomy, but I haven't sat in a Forte forever. I think the rear room in the Integra is among the best, but the low roofline and lack of rear HVAC bring down livability scores. Not saying it's a problem, but I couldn't give my in-laws a ride home a couple weeks ago because they would really struggle getting in and out.

I thought this would be right at 50K when they first announced it, but now that it's been confirmed, it just seems ridiculous.

Point of comparison, this is more than a S2K was in today's dollars, and basically the same price as a S2000 CR.

GLI should have similar rear room. MK8.5 Golf R with physical buttons coming out next year is starting to look enticing.

A 2000 s2k in todays money would be 58k. But yes the type S makes the type R seem like bargain lmao

Ya know these will sit at MSRP after the initial 200 hype. Chance to negotiate for invoice come winter time. Perfectly fine if you knock it down to $46k. Otherwise, let them sit.

This is before $7500 tax credit:

I think they may only qualify for a $3,750 credit. But still..

I'm out. What were they thinking?
I won't be running around screaming "Acura is done" because I honestly think their regular models aren't bad at all.
And I'm sure they won't mess up the upcoming TLX refresh and RDX redesign or whatever this horribly.
But this, I really don't know what to say about this pricing.

$7500 for the Performance model. Competes directly with Acura’s entry-level luxury lineup.
