What’s this embargo lift you speak of???I heard the official launch date is June 19th so I wonder if embargo will be lifted the same day??
Acura invites these journalists to a central location to test drive the Type-S and learn all about it under the condition that they'll keep all their impressions confidential until a set date/time, which allows everyone to release their content at the same time--until then, you won't see anything about the car that isn't open and obvious. What’s this embargo lift you speak of???
Media is given access to cars for reviews and articles and things but they aren't allowed to release them until a certain date so that everybody's reviews come out at the same timeWhat’s this embargo lift you speak of???
thank you. So it looks like they’ll all sit on information for two full weeks. Hopefully that translates into good reviews met with a healthy supply for people to buy.Media is given access to cars for reviews and articles and things but they aren't allowed to release them until a certain date so that everybody's reviews come out at the same time
Looking forward to Savagegeese and Everyday Driver for their takes. Those two channels are my personal favorites. Hopefully we’ll see Jason Cammisa’s take between the CTR and ITSthank you. othwerwise most of us will just be dreaming for several months
Well it'll take each of them time to edit their content for production, especially the folks doing videos, so it's more than just time to sit. But also worth considering, Acura invites who they like to these events.... and they tend to invite people who like them back. The journalists are covered for travel, food, and lodging, plus they get shown a good time while they're there. The reviews will be positive.thank you. This is actually one of the “problems” auto journalism is facing. The fact that they are wined and dined for each press event. This is why Doug Demuro never attends said events.Well it'll take each of them time to edit their content for production, especially the folks doing videos, so it's more than just time to sit. If you want less biased content, that'll take some time to surface.
that Makes sense. Although some of the mentioned reviewers are quite good with excellent content. I do wonder what the play is, get good ITS reviews out to improve the brand of Acura and/or sell lots of ITS. Hopefully we’ll get information on production and allocation to the dealersWell it'll take each of them time to edit their content for production, especially the folks doing videos, so it's more than just time to sit. Certainly can't blame Acura...but I would hope they encourage honest reviews. I think there will be room to compare and contrast with existing models from Acura, Honda, and even competitors without coming across disparagingly with feedback. I would expect some honest comparisons with the CTR like ride quality, interior details, performance and even how it stacks up against Elantra N, GR Corolla, Golf R, etc.If you're planning an event, you're not going to plan to not do this stuff. It's standard these days. So you can't fault Acura, and the Integra event seems less decadent than many others - the latest Toyota Tacoma event was in Hawaii for example. It's about good press, so this is just how it goes.
SavageGeese will give an unbiased review, plus he got a FL5 so he will have that intimate knowledge to compare the two. Also Tedward and Topher own FL5’s so they will be good sources if you want to see how the ITS compares to the FL5.
