A n B both bring the pedal to close to the driver. Only C works for me. But it’s all just personal preference. It’s easy to switch.

I Heel toe (more like toe-side) with any type of spirited driving, especially on track. Coming off the highway onto a tight ramp is the best time to practice. I’ve been getting used to the current setup so probably won’t get the spacer, but we’ll see if my opinion changes after a day at Road America next week. Will run fully stock except motul brake fluid.

jealous! Although I’ll be running with Team Honda Research West and their race-spec Civic Si, so that will be cool. They’re testing in preparation for the 25-hour Thunderhill (with a race-spec FL5, too!), and I’ll also be there at the race to support the team ( not racing because I don’t work for Honda), but more importantly to try and meet Keiichi Tsuchiya (!!) who will be racing for Spoon (!!) in their FL5

Some people position their heel-toe differently. I’ve always done it the same as this guy with heel in the center and using both sides of the foot. Although everyone’s foot sizes and comfort levels are different

I appreciate this video very much! It provided with with the clarity I needed to practice this technique & has certainly made downshifting while braking much more comfortable for my family of passengers...namely my wife. So I've been practicing this consistently lately & it's been so smooth most of the time that you can barely feel the shift at all...until I mess up & you definitely feel it. Lol But +90% of the time, much smoother. I'm a 9.5-10 shoe size & position the center of my foot that I'd say is the outer right side of the ball & the soft part just under the padding of the foot on the bottom right corner of the brake pedal & use the outer right side of my foot under the pinky toe to contact the accelerator in order for a smooth shift. It helps that I have wide ass duck feet.
