šŸ˜‚ it's a fun ride that I have enjoyed everyday. I love the looks, performance, and that exhaust sound. Also aftermarket accessories are just starting to heat up if your into mods. It's an overall great platform.

When you get one you'll get to move up from being an f to being a g so you've got that going for you.

It's pretty,pretty good!

Such a fun drive.

My buddy just got a Audi S3, and it's got a sweet interior, although loaded with a bunch of piano black, the screens and gauges are unbelievable. Seats are nice too. outside of that, the ITS is way better to drive, and has a more than acceptable interior, and it's way cooler looking on the outside.

It's a Civic Type R, only better!

This... and, I'll add: if you don't want one, don't buy one! Even easier.

I've never understood having vitriol for other people because they enjoy their car (or whatever possession).

Buy what you want; be happy with and for yourself; let other people do the same. I can't imagine wasting energy or effort being miserable because someone else isn't.

I think itā€™s a pretty fun and cool car. My friends that have seen it love the styling, I love the way it drives - it feels very balanced and Iā€™m still in break-in. I canā€™t wait to actually get on it once the weather gets better. It has a lot is usable room which is great also. And itā€™s an Acura, so thereā€™s peace of mind ā€¦

Unfortunately right now, at least where I live, it IS that difficult. And I hope you werenā€™t interpreting my post as sarcasm. That was all genuine. I really do love this car.

I don't think that's a lot of projection on my part. That's an oft-quoted passive-aggressive remark going back as far as I've heard any, and let's be clear: owning a car doesn't make you cool.

If you're interested in the car, that's great. But, I don't think, considering 50% of the content of your post and your username (which there's nothing wrong with, but doesn't convey a lot of effort) in conjunction with one another, it's a leap for people to assume you are trolling.

Not many, honestly. I think between here and CivicXI, I've come across one person who was consistently pretty derogatory towards owners of other cars (than their own), and they owned an FL/DE5.

These forums are a pretty good place. That said, as we all know, the internet in general is pretty toxic these days, and these cars have attracted a fair bit of trolling / anger (as have most cars).

Since you're interested, I'll give you my two-cents:

It's a fun car! I think it offers as good an experience in terms of inputs / feedback and driving dynamics as anything under ~100k. The cabin is comfortable / accessible, and it feels open; forward / side visibility is excellent. It comfortably seats 4, and ingress/egress is fairly easy.

Honda has done a great job pushing the capabilities of FWD, and the suspension design makes it incredibly capable. Its limits far exceed any "responsible" behavior on the street, and pads / fluids are all an above-average driver needs to take it to the track.

The powertrain is well-tested, has a nice fat torque band, and is very reliable. There is a huge amount of aftermarket support for this platform (K20C1), from bolt-ons, OTS and custom tuning, big turbos / injectors, etc. to endurance racing setups (cams, sleeves, rods, pistons, ported heads, valve trains, etc.). There are a couple folks starting to push this platform here, and plenty more pushing it via the FL5 (CivicXI), and they are a great resource.

All of that said... this is still an F/F. The car will never be quick off the line, there's no power oversteer, and you will understeer at the limit of grip. If you want a (fairly) dedicated track platform, you're a straight line speed junky, or you care about HP/$ (or luxury/$), look elsewhere.

I enjoy the driving dynamics, input / feedback / communication the car offers, and I don't doubt it will probably be the best executed ICE F/F produced. With traction control off, you get a substantial amount of lift-off oversteer, and just enough torque steer to be fun, without impacting precision (reviews will claim there is none... as soon as TC is disabled, it's clear that's untrue). I'm not a huge luxury guy, so the amenities the ITS offers are more than enough for me, and the potential for ancillary and substantial modification is exciting.

Edit: if you drive one and like the experience, but don't want to spend $50k+ on an F/F and aren't attached to the exterior / interior, the FL5 (CTR) is pretty much mechanically identical. The most common gripe with that car is the over-aggressive damping, but you can grab the ITS module for $250 and swap it (or vice-versa).

I think you answered this but were you at all put off by it not having rear seat vents, sunroof, etc? I was a little irritated by people pointing that stuff out, given its (reported) excellent driving experienceā€”as if not having those cabin things were enough to deter people from getting it. But I like to drive, man, I canā€™t see myself really caring about that stuff. Sounds like youā€™re the same?
