How often do you clean it?
Every 3 weeks (maybe 4) or everytime I clean the dash/interior. I have sonax, a soft brush, and a medium brush. The tag that comes with the wheel says to use warm water. I've found that is enough. I wet it, then brush with soft. I then let it dry. Then use the medium brush to get that suede look back. The sonax appears to be overkill because there isn't much soil to clean for me, and if I use it, the wheel needs a full nap reset with the medium brush to get the soft feel back.

I've also found sonax to be largely useless. Warm water and a cotton towel seem to just clean best.

Also, as a general tip, avoiding lotion, ointments, medications, strong soaps, etc right before driving keeps your leather or fabric steering wheel looking cleaner, longer.

For gloves? Any inverse stitch silicone racing glove is GOLD for grip and comfort! I love my omp gloves, but those are overkill for the road 😊

Another very important tip- really the only way to screw up alcantara is to use too much force or abrasive materials when cleaning. If you have actual stains or excessive dirt, that's the time to bust out the Sonax- do NOT attempt to rub profusely! That is a quick way to ruin a $300... or in my case $2000 steering wheel and/or $600 shift knob.

That's why I like that these steering wheels are so cheap! If you mess it up, it's not very painful, just buy a new one and swap in 15 mins.

Yeah if you like alcantara it's kind of a no-brainer on these cars.

That said, I also had a 718 GTS with the GTS interior package, but the alcantara wheel option was deleted (i.e., it had a leather wheel). As much as I like alcantara, my wife uses hand lotion pretty profusely and loved to drive the Boxsters I've had (for obvious reasons), so I liked not having to fuss over the wheels, or a potential $2k mistake if I screwed it up again. I went with the same steering wheel delete option for the GTS package in the 718 GTS 4.0 I ordered too...

But my wife doesn't really drive my car now and $300 to completely replace it is pretty enticing. If I keep this car long enough I'll get an alcantara wheel eventually.
