  1. Need Your Advice for buying a used 2018 Acura RLX

Salvage title is an instant non-starter for me. It's true that such a car can be wonderful and offer years of normal service after being properly reconditioned, but for me, there's no way to know for sure. Also, salvage cars are quite difficult to resell. I would only consider it if it was...
  2. Heated Seats not warm enough?

I've had heated seats for decades. Preferred has always been to turn on low when winter starts and leave on low. Comfortable for all but the hottest or coldest days. Then turn off sometime in the spring. I like when I can turn on and they stay on, like my Saab. That didn't work in the...
  3. First failure of the "exhaust?"

The service manager emailed me that they installed a new sub. I tested the loaner and confirmed the piped in sounds were not distorted. This time I had my son test drive for me, and he bounced me around the hatch in all three drive modes. Normal is similar to sport, and comfort is quieter...
  4. First failure of the "exhaust?"

Sean you certainly are persistent! OK, here's story so far. We bought a 2019 RDX and the dealer service department said no, there is NO piped in sound. I knew it was untrue, but figured they were repeating what Acura corp said. Bought the 2023 Integra last June. The delightful hum of engine...
  5. Brake System & Parking Sensor Errors

Nothing serious like yours, Sean. Imma post once I get a resolution, but it's related to piped in sound.
  6. Integra quirks part 2 and Integra versus Integra

Last week I got an Integra loaner and played with these settings. On the slowest dial setting, the auto did not react quickly enough. But I found mama bear middle settings were good during intermittent light rain. At one point I did feel it was best to push down to low, but shortly afterward...
  7. Brake System & Parking Sensor Errors

Thanks for the detailed documentation! Lots of us are following your experience. I currently have a loaner and it is an Integra, Blue over Black. The service writer seemed to say that they had a couple of manuals in the service pool but they were both out. That surprised me. I haven't driven...
  8. Manual shifter question

I'm with Kilo on it having a notchy feel. But for me it is fairly consistent for all shifts, all gears. For shift point, if I'm accerating with traffic, usually between 3000-3500 into second. But if I'm just rolling, I may go as low as 2000 rpm, as I have difficulty keeping the ride smooth in...
  9. A Spec Emblem color

I think it's great that you are mixing it up. But I think the A needs to remain red. Let us know where you land and show pics please!
  10. Is the Integra beautiful?

When I hear beautiful car I think about a Ferrari 250 or Jaguar E-Type. In that league, the Integra cannot compete. For new cars, I'd consider the Aston Martin DBS, or Lexus LC, or even a Volvo V60. Still doesn't really complete, except MAYBE the Volvo. I'll stick with good looking, or as...
  11. Having several issues with new integra

Agreed, that it is an assist, and not perfect. BUT, 4 years ago we had two new Hondas two compare the Honda Sensing performance. The Accord was noticably better than the RDX. The dealer did a recalibration of the sensors, and it was a noticable improvement. We don't have the Accord any more...
  12. Sticky/Jerky Steering issue

Thanks for posting this detailed information Dan! This kind of information can help us all make good decisions about managing the ownership process, and is great for potential buyers. All cars have problems, and if you're ready for them, they don't hurt as much. I'm glad there appears to be...
  13. Help me decide, White Acura TLX PMC or Integra Type S?

I find the brake hold somewhat intrusive while driving. I had it on my BMW and was smoother. There was no on/off selection I found though, it was always on. In SF I would absolutely use it. It's not THAT intrusive.
  14. Rancid Smell

I had this experience in a different car this summer. My son has been driving it, so naturally I wanted to blame him/his hygeine. LOL I tore out all the mats, everything I could, and the only thing I found was a dead ladybug. Took it out, and the smell disappeared. I couldn't believe it was...
  15. 2023 Integra real world performance review: 30-70mph and 40-80mph comparison test

"You can't base a car's performance solely on it's zero to sixty numbers." Amen.
  16. ELS Audio with JL Audio HO W6 Subwoofers (with stock ELS 16 Speakers).

I'm pretty certain. I need to take my car in to the dealer and I will verify. But, yeah, there's always exhaust sound piped in, and runs heavily in the sub in the hatch. I'm usually in Comfort and I get it there and other drive modes. I have no doubt.
  17. Drive modes tested on the highway 60-80mph. Factory Tune

Thanks for the detailed look! It appears that you were running in 4th on the manual. I usually run in comfort, and flip to sport when I'm looking for responsiveness, but I might want to do that for a bit more acceleration. Surprised the Normal and sport were the same.
  18. Acura Purchase Surveys *Check Email*

I also got the survey. It was like they watched youtube reviews and listed the items people complained about. Except rear seat headroom, lol.
  19. I just crashed my MANUAL 2000 GSR 200k miles

Whoa that sucks, glad you're ok. At 200Kmiles, I don't think you'll have a lot of interest. Obviously, that's not worn out for one of these cars, I don't think it would command much premium, unless you wait for the exact right buyer.
  20. Android Auto

I have the same problem with my Google Pixel. But it is a newer phone for me and I'm not sure it worked when I first got it. But I think so. When I tried to reconnect the car said the phone was incompatible.
