Right, that was my whole point. I think I preferred that prediction concept to the actual thing. Maybe that's just me preferring the CTR styling.
Again, I'll wait to see the full reveal of the ITS before judging.
Is it me or does the front end of the standard model look cleaner and more modern than the Type S? Maybe I should hold judgement until the full thing is revealed. I guess I prefer more clean lines, more paint work rather than the large vents.
This old concept was nicer IMO
I rented a Civic Type R for a full day and to me, it wasn't that harsh. I guess that term is relative though. That car with the looks of the Integra would be a winner IMO.
I agree though, it's a different time. Cars used to have the dial turned more towards sporty and less comfort. Newer...
It's definitely more than just a slightly faster Civic, but by that rationale, the Integra Type R was not just a slightly faster Integra. I'm aware this won't be a "Type R" by name, but to me that's more marketing since that name is now exclusive to Honda.
If the base 2023 Integra is a ~7%...
I hope it's 300+, but your expectations might unfortunately be more realistic. I'm all for the auto offered in the ITS for those that want a close to CTR auto, but would be extremely dissapointed if a 6 speed wouldn't be offered.
Same general specs of the CTR that is slightly less raw with more...
Wow.. the expectations I'm seeing in these threads on the power output makes me kinda sad, despite that take being pretty logical. If the Type-S doesn't at least match the CTR in power output and offer a 6 speed, I gotta sit this one out. I really don't think it's asking too much. Asking for...
I was with a group and sort of in a rush, so didn't even sit in the driver's seat unfortunately. I briefly moved the shifter a bit from the passenger side and THAT felt good. I am almost certain the clutch would be the usual good Honda quality based on numerous ones I've driven.
All I would say...
Nice! For sure overstated. I was really impressed sitting in the MDX too.
Some more shots in case anyone's interested:
I realize I should have totally taken a shot of the 'teggy's hood while it was open. While I was sitting inside of it, a younger guy was saying to me, "It's gross, hah?"...
Unfortunately, I haven't sat in the new Civic, only seen pics of the interior. I will say the seats had a quality suede feel to them. The dials and vent handles felt really solid. Shifter felt good going through the gears with the car off.
Definitely some use of plastic around the center...
Yeah, this sums it up. Make sure they also clarify about dealer required accessories since that is likely independent of dealer markups and I have been told by some dealerships that these are requirements.
Definitely a different market today than it was a few years back.
So is anyone being told in writing that they will for sure not be charged mandatory dealership accessories and / or market adjustments?
I saw that the GR86 forums are keeping spreadsheets of the dealerships not going through these practices and thought that might be a great idea here.
Completely agree. I would be pleasantly surprised if the ITS outperforrms or even simply matches the CTR. I think its extra cost will be justified by the more premium features, but not raw performance.
As many have alluded to already, the extra road insulation and chase for comfort over raw...
The RSX was the Integra which is why I feel it's relevant. We don't have to keep going on about this as it's all just hopeful speculation. My point was simply that it wouldn't be out of the question for the Integra Type S to come close to or match the highest trim Civic since this has been the...
I remember the Civic SI being manual only while the base RSX (Integra) was offered as a manual or auto. The RSX Type S was only offered as a manual however.
Of course the difference was that we didn't have a Civic Type R in North America.
By that logic, why would someone take the base Integra over the Civic SI? The extra luxuries and design, right? You could say the same for the highest performance trims and the difference in price could be relative.
In the past, the Integra / RSX was just as competitive or more than the highest...
