High-Performance Integra Type S in Development – Slated for Arrival Next Summer

December 5, 2022 — TORRANCE, Calif.

Acura today confirmed the development of a high-performance Integra Type S, set to join the lineup for the 2024 model year. Promising ultimate street performance and driver engagement, the Integra Type S will be powered by a high-revving 2.0-liter VTEC turbocharged engine producing over 300 horsepower and paired exclusively with a 6-speed manual transmission and limited slip differential. More details to be shared closer to launch.

this whole time I've been lying to myself, saying you dont need that, the Integra is good enough

May not be able to keep lying to myself for much longer now that some details are beginning to come out

This and the Type R are probably going to be last ICE/manual vehicles that Honda/Acura are going to produce, so I'd love to get a late model one - maybe a 2025 or 2026. Don't have a burning desire to replace my 2019 Si just yet!

Maybe it wasn't a bad thing that I waited on my Integra...


Once you do, you’ll wish you had done it sooner. Honda makes the best and easiest to drive manual transmissions.
Honda does build a great manual transmission. But I've been fortunate to drive a car with a Tremec manual. Now I know why the reviews all rave about them ... it's because they're *that* good. Interestingly, the BMW manuals I've driven have not been great.
