Thanks! I was looking at that same HF jack.
It went on sale $40 off the next day, but I think it has since ended.
I haven't used it but it seems like a great jack. My only concern was wheels rusting over time, I can see where the Aluminum model would be good if you have to leave it out or in the elements, I just figured I'll keep mine dry and lubed.
Ill break it out Sunday.

Gotcha - thanks!

You’ll have to let me know if that reaches the front jack point. It’s pretty far back there.

I’m not sure if even with a long reach low profile you’d still need ramps. I’m weighing picking up race ramps
So, the jack was great, worked like a charm, no ramps needed.
I used it today to add wheel spacers and then to do an oil change and in both cases the jack slid top the jack points without issue and had no clearance issues at all, so FYI, the Daytona low profile long reach works great with the Type S.

i just changed my oil last week too and did a write up here. but wow, that must be a newer harbor freight jack as i didn't know they made a "long reach" low profile jack. i only have a low profile Daytona, not long reach. so i had to use ramps to get it up. one more step in the process that can be cumbersome applying just the right amount of throttle to get the car on top of the ramp. my biggest problem was that i could not remove the factory-installed oil filter with the CTA oil cap tool i had purchased. i wound up having to run out and get a locking plier to remove the filter.

replying to some comments above regarding the merits of a break in or early oil change. i came across an interesting youtube video from the "Motor Oil Geek." he seems to have a professional background and expertise in oils and lubrication. essentially, he compares the first and second oil change analyses to look at the rate of change in PPM of metals. the first change has much higher content due to engine components bedding/breaking in. he gives some interesting thoughts as to why break-in oil changes are no longer recommended by manufactures, but are nonetheless important for long life of the car/engine.

i also know that BMW M cars have a recommended break-in oil change after 1200 miles or so as the first oil fill is with a thinner oil.

Funny, I used a large pair of pliers to break the seal on mine too, bare handing it wasn't doing it and the wrenches I have are for larger filters.
