Math not your strong suit?
Awesome comment. Funny and incisive — I'd love to hear more from you in general, and wonder if you'd be able to find any new ways to unintelligently critique others in this thread?

I think I speak for everyone here when I say that it's actually pretty awesome when people such as yourself are mildly aggressive in the manner of a middle school child pedantically correcting a different, more intelligent child for using a generalization. There's not enough of this energy online and I appreciate the childlike meanness you bring to these forums.

I'm sure you need no help from me, but if I may offer a suggestion — maybe if someone in a thread misspells a word, you could quote them and say something like, "Know how to spell much?" Something clever like that would be pretty clever and bring a lot of life and laughter to our time here.

Interesting choice of words. Tell me, what does it say about you for choosing to respond to an "unintelligent" post?

Ok, if it makes you feel better, please explain in as much detail as you’re willing to provide, your logic in choosing to ignore all other posts on this topic and “round up” to $10,000 when discussing the difference in cost of an Integra Type S and a Civic Type R? Let me spell it out for you, because I'll just work with your assessment that we're both unintelligent here- it's pretty clear that when talking about what people are actually paying for these cars, it's not really a reasonable assumption to just go with the manufacturer's suggested retail price. That would be even more appropriate in this context, since it's pretty much all we've been talking about up to your post, with used RS3s going for mid-$70k.

Even disregarding all previous posts in the thread and taking your post in a vacuum, that still doesn't explain the "$10k vs 20k thing". Pretty irresponsible knowing that ADMs are still far more applicable for a CTR vs an ITS, and even ignoring that fact:

2024 Honda Civic Type R- $44,795

2024 Acura Integra $51,800

Acura Integra Car and Driver overall rating finally.... Perfect 10 1706411284189

With people flipping out over things like Homelink and rear USB vents, we're really gonna pretend that $3,000 is just a rounding error?

Or you can you just accept the gentle prod I gave that I disagree with your assessment, preferably without getting your blood pressure up over 5 words on an Internet message board.

Stress will kill you, you know.

I find it intriguing the Audi S3 is 2nd, and the RS3 is 6th. The RS3 seems like such a good car on paper.. I personally just never considered one because I specifically wanted a manual.
Ditto. I feel Audi and others are shooting themselves in the foot not even offering Manual as special orders. Just have it ready, charge if they gotta, but people like us won't even consider anything but stick

Lol thanks for the bump. Man, I can be a DICK sometimes. I just didn't like that grahm guy though. I hope he comes back.

It's funny because looking back on these comments, I wonder why I never stopped to consider that the RS3 waitlist/markup issues probably had nothing to do with demand, and everything to do with supply. Audi just doesn't make that many of them. Which is also why there never was or will be a manual option. They don't care enough because they're not after that type of enthusiast market. And to be fair, they shouldn't be. Front-heavy, understeer-prone cars, even if brutally fast, are not really the type that the "save the manuals" crowd would be pining for. So they strap a nice stereo, a classy interior and comfy seats, give it an eye-watering price, and build about half as many as they could probably sell, and dealers love them for it because (at least for a good long while) they'd make $10k+ over for every unit they'd get in.

I'd still take my ITS over an RS3 apples to apples- but what the Audis absolutely excel at is being that 2nd car, the one you use every day. I loved my S3 when I had it, but only because I had a manual Boxster available when I wanted to scratch that itch...

I had a 2015 S4 that was a manual. I liked it. Had the sport diff. Was fun. Absolutely incredible in the winter with a proper set of winter tires. But there was something about it that I never got along with. Still kept it 3 years, but just never really connected with it for whatever reason. The same can’t be said for my ITS. I really love driving it.

Car & Driver just updated their long term review of the ITS. Still getting glowing praise. They gonsonfar as calling it the budget M3 with a better shifter.

This is funny to me because I briefly looked into trying to get an E90/92 and F80 manual before the ITS, but the lack of them on the market and the uncertainty with the engine made me reconsider. Really just wanted something with some practicality, great looks, a great manual, and ideally fun to drive. Turns out a FWD Honda is basically the only thing on the market given I personally just don't want a sporty car that weighs over ~3500lbs.

The older S4 with the manuals were good cars. Audis in general are very good cars. They're just not quite that "true enthusiast" vibe. That said I particularly loved the generation with the V8s, that was a glorious sound from that engine... but you're right, beyond the exhaust note and the punch of torque they fell flat as a sports car. Most of it had to do with the steering, and the weight over the front axle. That's what Audis typically do. The newer ones have gotten better at hiding it, but the steering is still a glaring weakness.

The S3 felt far more "sporty" than the S4 and even RS5 I had. Probably a lot to do with weight and overall dimensions of the car, but the steering was a notch better too. The ITS just has so much more going for it that becomes immediately noticeable on a windy road.
