Comprehensive Downpipe Thread

Hi all, I wasn’t able to find any good video comparisons of the sound of the stock exhaust vs TSP downpipe and PRL frontpipe ONLY, with otherwise stock exhaust. So, being unable to find said video, I made one myself. I hope this helps anyone who is considering this exact setup.



FWIW - iPhone doesn’t do it justice, although you can definitely hear that it’s louder. It makes a significant difference and IMO strikes the perfect balance of louder and deeper but not too loud. I had someone pull up in traffic to ask what exhaust I was running.

even just adding the TSP downpipe gets you pretty close to this. Sounds very good.

For another point of data - I just installed the MAPerformance Catted Downpipe, ceramic coated. Fit was great, but I didn't bother to get heat shield provisions (not sure if there is any difference to the FK8 hole location). I am running a Phearable stage 2 tune, so I didn't get a chance to see if it threw a code or not. I think that is hit or miss based on the reviews on their website with some claiming it didn't throw one. Sound is noticeably deeper, but not like it will get annoying for a DD. I am excited to see what this puts down, but I may wait for a custom tune with CANFLEX and E85 before I see numbers.
