I'm with you on this mindset, actually. If you're getting a CVT, the Civic Hatchback Touring has some great features, and it's quite a bit less expensive (at MSRP) than the A-Spec + Tech Integra, which is where all of the best features come in.
I agree with this as well, the trun off for me on the civic was lack of lumbar support

Not a feature I've ever given much thought, but you're right.

The Civic Hatchback has a great OEM spoiler available--would that make up for the lack of back support? 😆

Had no idea how to drive manual and got the MT, taught myself how to drive. 18k miles later and no regrets, rev match and brake hold make it stupid easy. I commute through city traffic twice a day (20-30 minutes) and honestly after a few thousand miles, I forget I am driving a manual. I would say just go with a different car (civic touring maybe) if you don't want to go the manual route. I think a CVT in my Integra would turn it from a fun daily into something generic. Just depends what you are after, if you weren't happy with your SI in traffic then it sounds like you know what to do.

Good for you teaching yourself, thats awesome. I have taught a few drivers, and now getting ready to teach my daughter.
I did buy the manual , as I really dislike CVT's

Didn't see that you had made a decision, congrats! I have the same color combo, once I saw the blue in person I was hooked

Honda manuals IMO are easier to drive than many others. I taught my (older) brother how to drive a manual in a 2005 civic si which he subsequently became speedracer in and did plenty of overconfidence damage.

I learned the hard way with an easily frustrated father, a cammed engine running a carburetor, a racing clutch, and an aluminum flywheel at 15yrs old and that didnt stop me from only wanting to only drive manual since. Too many vehicles later and I can safely say some are much easier than others but nothing beats rowing it your own.

Regarding the original post (sorry I went off-topic) I spent 5 years of owning automatics and had automatic regret. When I bought the integra I was only looking for a manual transmission and I am just over a year into ownership and not once have I wanted to go back to driving any kind of automatic.
