Acura Integra Integra Type S Earns C&D"s 2026 “Editors' Choice” Award preview-928x522

Acura Integra Type S Earns 2026 “Editors' Choice” Award from Car and Driver Magazine
February 3, 2026

The editors at Car and Driver have honored the Acura Integra Type S with a 2026 "Editors' Choice" award for the third year in a row, recognizing the most powerful, best-performing Integra ever with a win in the Sport Compact Luxury Hatchback category, and wholeheartedly recommending the premium performance sedan to buyers.

The Car and Driver "Editors' Choice" honorees are selected from more than 450 models that Car and Driver tests, rates and ranks across 47 unique vehicle segments annually. Vehicles with a 9-, 9.5-, or 10-star rating are ranked at the top of their segments and are considered by the editorial staff as exemplary choices in their respective classes.

More information about the 2026 Car and Driver "Editors' Choice" awards can be found here.

Acura Integra Type S
The Integra Type S delivers a new interpretation of ultimate street performance for the next generation of enthusiast drivers, elevating Acura Precision Crafted Performance in the gateway segment with class-leading power and dynamic capabilities paired with premium features and refinement.

Standard high-performance hardware includes a turbocharged 2.0-liter VTEC® engine producing 320 horsepower and the only available manual transmission in its class – a precise, short-throw 6-speed with an automatic rev-matching system for an intimate and rewarding connection with the driver. A limited slip differential puts the engine's power to the pavement effectively.

An innovative dual-axis front suspension design and performance-tuned Adaptive Damper System provide precise control of ride and handling with optimized damping curves to suit driving conditions. Powerful Brembo® front brake calipers and lightweight 19-inch wheels wrapped in sticky 265/30ZR19 Michelin Pilot Sport 4S high-performance summer tires complete the dynamic package.

Inside, Integra Type S drivers are treated to class-leading premium features and technologies, including heated front sport seats, a 10.2-inch Acura Precision Cockpit™ Driver Information Interface and Head-Up Display. Must have technology features like wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto™ compatibility, wireless phone charging and a 16-speaker ELS STUDIO 3D® premium audio system also are standard.

I can tell. It’s as if it was made by Americans in Japan. Cuz the shits panel gaps and interior rattles are off the chain 😂
The rattles are driving me a bit nuts on this car. Acura has been less than helpful too.

I've been second guessing whether having gone the FL5 route, I maybe could've avoided some rattles but I see some threads on that other site too, albeit there are far less complaints.

I’ve been in 3 fl5’s so far (not counting the one I wasn’t allowed to test drive. But I sat in it). They literally all rattle as much as a de5. Not better or worse. But definitely the same.

That's what I did. Bought rolls of automotive felt tape from Amazon. Pulled panels and taped everything that I thought was rattling.
