Coming from the Aspec this transmission is much better. No longer do I have a 1st gear lockout over 5 mph and the clutch is amazing

And if the clutch pedal is full depressed. This one gets me every now and then when I'm lazy/distracted.

But I agree; after driving it today while thinking about it, it is really tough for me to think anyone could have any gripes with this transmission at all. Maybe something is indeed wrong with OP's transmission? I'm curious to find out what the dealer finds.
yes stepping on the clutch all the way down is key. Most of us are not experienced enough to feel the engine perfectly to be able to shift smoothly without even pressing the clutch at all. (It’s possible, not recommended and you can destroy your clutch early).

If OP really does have a shifting problem he may have to adjust his clutch pedal free-play. Shifter cable should be on there very tight from factory setting. Read through this thread and if you suspect it’s one of these issues, take it to dealer to check it out
