I don't worry about such stuff. Potholes are always going to be there in cold climates. Worry about paying attention as you drive to avoid them.

100% agree with this. Over the past 9+ years of having sportscars on 19s with at most an extra inch in diameter to the ITS, I've never bent a wheel - *knocks on wood

Paying attention and keeping a safe following distance from the car in front of you really helps to see what's up ahead and avoid the really big ones.
